You're assuming there is now no risk and that clearly isn't the case. In the same way that Putin's "special military operation" was not foreseen payment of the special divi, until it actually happens, can be assumed to be 100% nail on. There is still the possibility that it will not happen. The 0.06p margin between the current ask of 1.74p and the special divi of 1.8p represent the risk factor.
As for the value of Amur once Kun Manie has been disposed of and its nothing more than a cash shell, well that one is anybody's guess. I think it unlikely that it will be valued at the cash total in the bank. In fact it's likely to be an awful lot less and I base that view on PI sentiment and BOD past performance.
Loading up right now is a gamble. It all depends on your appetite for risk.
I meant to type “No going back on the decision to pay a special dividend of 1.80 pence per share”
AGE
A General Meeting was held to approve the sale of Irosta and to approve the payment of the special dividend so there is going back on the 1.80 pence special dividend which is going to be paid by the latest of the 12 June 2023.
Which ever market maker is filling all those trades at between 1.67p and 1.7245p needs to go and do some more research!
AGE
Who would know, pay your money and take your chance in the full knowledge that in most cases RY will let you down and make sure he is just oh so hunky dory
MD
MD what does the market know that we do not to say they are currently valuing AMC at less than the special dividend and cash retained in AMC after the payment of the special dividend!
As the saying goes “The markets know the price of everything but they do not know the value of anything!”
AGE
Well there it is a gift horse looking straight at us.
MD
Some what of a mystery that you can buy shares in AMC at 1.7214p and yet receive a special dividend of 1.80 pence by the latest of the 12 June 2023 and there will still be cash left in the Company after the payment of the dividend!
AGE
I looked at the last year accounts and they end on the 31 December 2021 so next set of full year accounts will be for the year ended 31 December 2022.
The accounts for 2021 are dated 30 June 2022 so the 2022 accounts should be issued around the 30 June 2023.
The last set of interim accounts were dated 6 months to 30 June 2022 and issued on 9 September 2022.
AGE
Age, I think you'll find it's April.
The financial year end is 31 December 2022 and after that
31 December 2023.
AGE
Are they waiting for the new financial year???
He’s back. !!!! And still spouting carp. ??
One of the problems with the written word is that you can’t see the writer’s tongue wedged firmly in his cheek.Loosen up Gazz:))

Well let’s just hope that compiling a list of shareholders and logging how many shares they hold to enable them to pay the divi doesn’t involve any printing.Because as we all know printing in the AMC office system can take up to 18 months if the TEO is anything to go by.
I suppose if they go to an RTO and shares are suspended that might be an even bigger time waster.I’m sure that Mr Young’s fantastic knowledge of AIM rules will enable him to do exactly what ever he wants.Rest assured he’s got it all covered.
MD
You could have a point there. One deviation from referencing the SMO then out of a window he may go.
Personal opinion: RY has always said his hands are tied in what he can and can't say. I think this is the time for him to shine, nothing can stop him being open and transparent. The comms should improve immensely and we should hear from him very soon........................ Time will tell whether we do or not!
I guess.....probably testing the resolve of some holders so the shares and divi can go to MMs or other parties interested in the future prospects.....
Blackrhino1 not sure where I suggested that?
I'm sure what I said was the sp could top out at 2.2p prior to dividend. After dividend investors are most likely to off load their holding and the sp will fall.
I also suggested that if investors feel that AMC will come good on an acquisition, they may gamble on investing.
Furthermore, I said that we all know what speculation can do to the sp.
Do you require any further explanatuon?
You aren’t seriously suggesting the share price would react in the same way as it did with licence news? What detail are you expecting this BoD to reveal about any new development? Clearly more than we have been treated to previously when expected to agree significant changes
Considering the sp had been no lower than 0.75, maybe some investors will see a cut off price to buy at 2.2p. So the share price may still have a little life in it yet.
Would some investors even gamble on AMC coming through on an acquisition and we all know what a little speculation and excitement does to the market. Look at amc sp on news of regaining the licence!
Anything could happen between now and dividend
Gla
I don’t know what’s so hard in announcing a payment date for the dividend. Have they even set a record date?
Buying at 1.7p and getting a 1.8p dividend plus remaining shares in the cash shell is fantastic.
Last chance to get in imo
Four trades equaling £110k appeared within two minutes!!
News will be arriving anytime!
Strange how it is possible to buy at 1.73p and yet receive a dividend of 1.80p by the latest the 12 June 2023 and AMC will have cash left after paying the dividend.
