Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
AMC issue an RNS stating they have ceased discussions with AST.
AST immediately issue an RNS themselves stating they are disappointed and are going to put forward a binding offer. IMHO this tells everyone they are in the Last Chance Saloon with AMC being their only hope of a cash injection.
RY & co have already sold the only asset for far less than anyone expected. Surely they're not going to do it twice.
Age, I think you'll find it's April.
We all wish we were being paid 18p!
Please get your decimal points & zeros in the right place before posting.
Get back to discussing AMC. We finally got the RNS yesterday that many of us feared would never arrive. A positive step even if it means a loss for many.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions & you will never get everyone to agree.
So please let's get back to the topic that this bb is for & drop the politics.
I think we can all assume that the deal has completed or we would have been told it had fallen through and we will be told via RNS once the money is in AMC's bank account.
Nobody on a bb knows another person's situation, so let's stop the insults just because someone has a differing opinion to your own.
A few things I think everyone needs to consider;
We all knew the risks involved investing in AMC but we are in a situation no one could have predicted (SMO).
You have to forget everything that came before including the last monetary offer, it's gone.
We are not dealing in the West, this is Russia, they openly do what other countries do secretly. If they have decided an entity should be the owner of a company/asset that person will get it regardless of whether there are other interested parties.
We should only be looking at what's being presented and decide whether the offer is right for you, it's your money.
There are a lot of people standing to lose a lot of money here, there are also newbies and traders who stand to make a decent profit, everyone has their own agenda.
It's not the outcome any long term holder wanted but it is what it is and everyone has the right to vote however they see fit.
I rang HL 0117 900 9000 very helpful, took details over the phone & I received email confirmation the same day.
If anyone is with A J Bell voting closes today, posted by someone on Telegram.
Less than a week seems an extremely short time frame to vote on such an important issue.
There will be people who only check this share occasionally and will undoubtedly miss the opportunity to express their wishes.
Why is this being forced through at breakneck speed?
I also think it's worth mentioning that HL told me I would normally be able to register votes online but obviously they don't have the relevant information to set this up yet.
They took my vote over the phone, I'm sure other brokers would be happy to do that too.
I have to be honest that it's took a couple of days to step back and look at this proposal from both sides even though I was disgusted with the appalling terms.
Do you accept it as it is and vote in favour which would give an insulting payout initially followed by equally pathetic amounts over 15 years (if you're lucky) and trust in RY & co to do something they've proved themselves incapable of?
Or do you vote against the proposal even though you think it's already a done deal?
Well Mr Young I haven't been impressed with the way you've treated your shareholders, especially over the last few years & I have no confidence in you making the right investment choices for me in the future.
HL have registered my NO vote.
Now what will be will be but at least I played my part in trying to make them come up with something more acceptable for SH's.
I don't believe the offer is what the company would have wanted ideally but the terms of the offer could surely be altered to benefit shareholders more favourably.
As it stands we would be paid a pittance to start with & I doubt very much that we would ever see the remainder of the money.
The majority of us will make very little if any money from this proposal yet it still allows RY & co to take their salaries and spend any future payments as they see fit. So much for looking after shareholders interests.
The company promised better comms for years, if they'd delivered on this maybe feelings would have been different.
Crazytowner,
I don't believe people are wanting to make a protest vote.
If this offer was to pay shareholders the total amount on offer in one payment then I think most would have accepted it in the current climate.
It's the terms of the deal that most people are rightly outraged by.
Why would anyone want to let RY & co decide what to do with our money?
A lot of LTH's have given 12+ years for the company to add value to their holding and got back empty promises, missed deadlines and none existent communications. So why would anyone be happy giving them another 10-15 years to do the same?
I've always thought RY & team have done a great job of getting through numerous difficult times but these terms are like a two fingered salute from the company for all our time, patience & money.
His exact message is as follows
INCOMMING SOON - CAN EVEN BE THIS WEEK OR NEXT (as written)
Nowhere does it say what is incoming.
They have been right in the past and have been more specific with what to expect, this time it is much more vague.
We will have to wait and see this time, let's hope it's a more realistic offer.
I wonder if Bomber is still around? Dubai Diamond, Isphahan, Sandy R, White Label & Sunny are all names I remember, to add to those already mentioned.
At the moment this 'news' is only a rumour.
Perhaps it's been started to test how share holders would react to this level of an offer or maybe this was the low offer received years ago? Until the information is RNS'd take it with a pinch of salt.
I like to think this is a genuine offer but they've missed off at least one zero :)
If we don't see an RNS for a while yet.
If the document is genuine surely the Russians would want to announce this officially first. The FEEF isn't far off & would be the perfect opportunity to make this kind of announcement before any of the companies RNS the news.
After 11 years in this share I'm keeping everything crossed that we're finally going to be rewarded for our patience. Good Luck All
JoeBass I've been here since 2010, so I've seen the highs & the many lows. That's why I said I understand the frustrations. We would all like to see an RNS which lifts the share price & everyone's spirits.
Why is it that every RNS is received with negativity on this bb? I understand the frustration that the information is not what was expected but is this really a massive negative? I don't think so. Staff leave companies all the time for many different reasons & this departure has not come as a shock to the company as there has been a handover period. We have been informed that he is leaving & when this will take place. AMC don't have to tell us why unless there was some irregularity, just as they don't have to tell shareholders when staff are taking holidays. Stop constantly thinking the worst about every piece of information that's issued. They may no longer need a permanent CFO or he may have decided it was time for a change, we don't know & negative speculation doesn't help anyone.
Hope everyone manages to enjoy Christmas & let's hope 2021 is a better year for us all.
The BOD would learn communication skills as this information could have been shared so much better.
If an RNS had been issued earlier this month and covid given as the reason for the delay, I feel this disappointment would have been received with a certain amount of understanding and less of a knee jerk selling reaction.
They could have then issued today the great news of the increase from the last drilling results to make a positive impact.
Doesn't look like they have learned how to manage PI expectations after all these years of criticism.
Bring on tomorrow when people will have had a chance to digest the positive points from the latest RNS.
IMHO already know what their investing/trading strategy is. They don't need any "expert" advice from individuals who pop up from time to time to "advise" them. So whether you're buying in, selling out or doing the hokey cokey, we're really not bothered, we'll continue on the plan we already have in place. So please stop clogging up the board with incessant misinformation & drivel, it's time to move on and bore another board.
