>There's nothing to suggest
There is if you understand Technical Analysis
There's nothing to suggest that ABDN will even recover its dividend fall by next week, let alone exceed it.
Same here 143p ,final divi is 7.3p ,and fingers crossed we can see 151p next week.
Well took your advice mary. not quite 135. but 143 will do me. fingers crossed abrd now get there act together.
Yes of course you do. Especially if 135p tomorrow.
Have been invested in here for many years from when times where good. and sp at 550 when was standard life. so every time i have bought more it has dropped bought at 450.350 250. do i buy in again has it dropped as far as can go ? decision decisions lol.
Added a few more and will add on drop tomorrow.
Nice add for someone.
Ex Div this week.. top up Thurs
Unfortunately SB has no Macro type view on the way ABDRN fits into Finanacials.
Follows five year plan without making required adjustments to change plan.
Similiar to todays politicians.
How much loss has ABDN made on their share buybacks?
They sure as hell didn’t support the share price
With a market cap now down to £2.7bn including a cash pile nett of borrowings of £600m, the market values the company at £2.1bn after paying £1.5bn for ii and the platform is supposed to be valued at £1.4gn, someone must be running the rule over this. Bird is just trying to get the value down low enough (after an £800k bonus!) for a t/o and a nice retirement cheque. He is trying to cut costs without thinking the effects through - he put the contact centre out on a business park on hte west side of Edinburgh and wondered why most of the experienced staff left.
Yes, HOLD. Forget trying to make the quick buck, certainly with this Share and in these most unpredictable of times. My recollection is that on every posting I have made, even since the merger, my Opinion has been to HOLD and I shall continue to do that.
Investors Chronicle advice is to hold ,and that is what i am doing.
Another one of my LTH, another DLG would be perfect.
Limited downside, 14.6p divid & a DLG bid type play.... someone is bound to be slide ruling here yo swoop.... keeps me adding.
I agree. As well as holding Shares in Abrdn (nee Standard Life, oh how I miss those days!), I have had investments with St James's Place since 1995 and added to it over the years. I would not want SJP to have anything to do with Abrdn (not that they would anyway)
The focus is on the St James Place 5h1tshow today.
Now SJPABRDN is some M&A no one wants to see.
I think that article meant to put in £20k each year for 19 years not one single investment.
Unfortunately abdn has an inverse compound interest calculation. I didn't time my top up well and it's already underwater :(
Not sure what the buyers at 174 feel like. It was a bit of a roller-coaster to swing from a big rise to a fall at the end of the day.
Hoping it's a calm sea today.
Sold last year with a 28% profit, hope to buy back in near 15 march if shares are below 1.50 then sell when when I get at least another 28% + profit.
Think the author has a problem with his decimal place…. £1m … lol

The Board has recommended a final dividend for 2023 of 7.3p (2022: 7.3p) per share. This is subject to shareholder approval and will be paid on 30 April 2024 to shareholders on the register at close of business on 15 March 2024.
Added will hold for 2 years at these prices ! What an opportunity.
Moving into 10% yield territory, that will (should) attract buyers !
