Gold/Silver are going chaps ...

Going where exactly, bonker99 ? I don't do Twitter (or X). If you are anticipating a gold rush going into orbit anytime soon - forget it. It's been said so many times on posts here over the last decade (and not just by Dr. KS). By all means follow the dreamworld of kingworldnews, Motley Tool, British Bullsh*t et all. I would compare most of their utterings to the bloke who tells you to put ya shirt on that certain winner of the Derby! (lmao). Gold and silver has been creeping very slowly upwards. But look at the years it has been taking so far for the biggest and most experienced giants in the mining world to start nearing the the share prices they enjoyed at least half a decade ago. Some have even divested themselves of "sure winners" like the vaunted Hod Marden.
It's really very simple. DYOR. Check out the real world news out there especially what is happening to commodities, shortages and prime needs of the folk far down below the handful of billionaires. That's what it's all about. Gold and Silver blocks are for political leverage. Little pieces are either for personal adornment or to bargain with when you need favors and regular currency is worthless. If you need guidance - speak nicely to Warren Buffet!
LOL
#Silver posts its highest daily close for 11 years.

Hi bonker99. Thanks for your rapid response and I thoroughly enjoyed all your additional " translations" of previous dialogue. Having said that, It ain't just Kansas. I'm over 1000 miles east and we were in the cellar yesterday for a while during local tornado warnings. They seem to be everywhere together with weird rainfall patterns, droughts and all sorts. But then, of course we have lots of folk who don't accept rising temperatures and think Covid was just a Chinese-made flu! (Funny how most of the believers are MAGA folk!)
Anyway back to gold & silver (not Franz Lehar's version). Yep, both are quite well up recently but over the last decades one could have met disaster at times with several tumblings over a short period. Without a crystal ball I would be very wary but right now with a rising economy and a stable USD (in spite of Putin and Xi hoping to replace the dollar by their own currency) I would think that gold may reach $2500 but certainly not the $5K - $6K range that some hopefuls on this blog have been suggesting. Biden has stopped sending bombs but your Cameron says he is continuing to ship out military stuff because (he says) it's just spare parts. We are a free country so our University Students are fully entitled to protest (of course without violence).
$2.7k/$34 this year mate.
If you think $2.5k is the limit for gold in the Basel III era then you're out of your mind.
‘ then you're out of your mind.’
I think you have hit the nail on the head there.
Whatever, bonker99 me old sunshine, but evidently I'm not the only one out of mind...

It’s not so much what gold is worth, but who is buying it right now?
The explosion in the gold price we were looking for happened in bitcoin instead.
We own physical gold because we do not trust Government, banks or institutions between those two entities. Would you keep your savings in dollars, euros or pounds?
As a long term strategy, I'm happy to hold physical and also gold mining shares for my pension.
Have to admit that the effect of real interest rates being high had occurred to me for a non interest baring asset, though obviously needs to be looked at from a worldwide perspective, and not an individual country, where the government/ their central bank may influence the disparity. Every year we get 'its going to $10,000 an ounce' , 'its going to fall to $1,000 an ounce'. At the end of the day, the rain will fall, the sun will shine, the trains will run (mostly, though not always in the UK) and gold will be whatever it will be. That's my thought for the day. I got rid of my BT shares first thing so I'm happy :)
"Experts" LOL - you pro clowns really do make me larf :D
Go watch some more daytime TV mate.
Silver sets a new 11-year high @ > $30

Okay, Bonker99, CBS did refer to "experts" and most times I don't profess to be of such eminence . I guess the media are out to sell stories and the " hotter" the plots, the more people will be drawn (and if they are MAGA they will readily believe any tale which might appear supportive for their treasonous cause).
For me the bottom line is that silver tarnishes, I can't afford house staff and It would give me aggro to clean it regularly. So instead I keep bullion in a safe deposit (for a rainy day) , invest in specific mines which so far pay me regular dividends and buy shares in appropriate royalty companies which should further increase in value if the price of gold goes up and production continues in line. My past experience in seeking riches from AIM never turned too positive...so if I think the BoD are enjoying a lifestyle and not sharing my way I am liable to become upset. If that makes me a whinger - so be it. Finally, according to Aussies - it's the " Winjin Poms" who are renown for complaining and I'm on the other side of " the pond" , dude. Let's review it all next Christmas! TTFN
DJ
just been reading and watching videos on Tesla. I also saw an article by Motley Fool that implies they think it may be undervalued (which reinforces what I think about Motley Fool). Would seriously be interested in your thoughts as an American, Musks fan boys sure think the sun shines from his posterior.
‘ the sun shines from his posterior.’
Do you two guys talk about posterior issues regularly?
Hi John. Initially I thought Elon Musk was a kinda financial adventurer who might well ruin folks who put their savings into his Company. Perhaps his Tesla firm might well over expand and go bust. But this article would seem to put a very good light on his career and I was not aware, for example, of his overall priority for his family, his personal spending and his charitable fundings. Regards, DJ

Musk fans maybe mistaken ' cos the sun supposedly shines from a certain MAGA
persona's posterior which hopefully may fairly soon find itself balanced on the basic rim of a bog in a very different location. lol.

Posterior’s, rimming & location!
What is it exactly that you get up to out there?
New ATH for Gold at $2,450.
Silver continuing to climb to/wards $35 @ $32.50.
If you don't hold your own bullion mate then you don't own it.
Silver sniffing $38 in Shanghai.
Won't be long.

Silver appears to be less than $32 if you don't cherry pick, down 1% on the day. Filtered, your ramping is getting silly. Bye.
Good shout, John. Silver price from Royal Mint showing as $31.86
Hi LoB. Hope you are well.
Improvements with AAU SP though seems to be taking a breather as is PoG.
How do you feel about Dokwe now? If it comes off it will be great but clearly cranks up the risks profile.
Not too bad, John, hope you're on good form too? Apols for the delay in coming back to you.
I feel the same as you about Dokwe......seems to be a game-changer but comes with much risk from what I can see (political, in the macro-environment and financial, more parochially i.e. funding the development).
I'm wondering if the recent sp uplift is as a result of Tavsan coming on stream (and some people 'in the know' taking advantage). Pure speculation on my part, I admit.
I know C&B has more concerns about Salinbas - and the never-ending saga there - which is doing nothing to instil any confidence in Ariana but I remain slightly more optimistic given the run on gold, ongoing existing production, Tavsan and now the prospect of Dokwe (and that's without anything ever happening at Salinbas).
Overall, I'm holding but not adding right now.
Right, I'm just off to put in my application to be manager at Burnley now that Mr Kompany appears off to Bavaria. I have little/no experience of managing a football team....but that didn't stop Mr Kompany being appointed having only had a short time as a manager. Wish me luck :)
