Based on your outlook and selections it would appear that penny shares are perhaps not for you Paul !
C&B - maybe for the Guinness ...less so for the bene and hot (which is the devil's drink). Anyhow, you'll easily spot me, I'll be the one in the corner crying into my beer (inconsolably) about the football and Ariana.......
Lets put things into perspective here,
1) A 'pandemic' - ahem.
2) Military operations where Turkey is a strategic geopolitical country.
4) The copper thesis requires a 'green carbon free' world which is stuff dreams are made of.
3) A Biden Presidency which is turning out to be a complete disaster, it is embarrassing. He is not mentally fit to be President and is basically a front for the Clintons and Obama.
We are lucky to be as strong as we are, Im gutted we lost was it 27.5% of Tavsan that would have been a nice revenue stream for the next three years and supported regular dividends. Instead we are having a spin at the Kosovan roulette wheel, which is no doubt fun for a Geologist plying their trade, but for a shareholder please justify this! Did we need that risk when we lost so much for it. Or is my assumption wrong and giving away what we did was due to internal Turkish politics?
As for Isgard Metals is there enough revenue stream coming in from it to shift the SP or is it just enough to keep the lights on?
I do question if this company has made decisions in the interest of shareholders or it has just made bad decisions which the above numbered points have impacted.
Had we have not had a special dividend could that money have been used to do something with the Cypriot copper story so that is ready to go once the global market copper prices are on the up?
Maybe too much hubris too soon and poor global geopolitical advice who knows!
john, lob, i have to agree with john on the salinbas mine. there may be a hell of a lot of gold down there, but nothing will happen for the next 10 years, unless they manage to sell it and let someone else get it out. over the last 3 years we've just gone backwards in regards to the sp, and i can't see that changing much even with tavsan on board. look at the comments on the advfn site, i'm sure they all wear rose tinted spectacles. did you see their year end sp forecasts, laughable. i predicted 2.25p, and looks like i'm too high. i want to hang around a little longer and hope that tavsan gives us that little boost, but after that i think i'll be off.
lob, i'll be in my longside seat in feb for ****nal match, so maybe catch up for a guinness, followed by bene & hot
'at our now only 23.5% interest Tavsan deposit'
A reduced stake in Salinas is undersntable but I for the life of me cannot understand why we did at what we did at Tavsan, ok we derisked out of Turkey and went into the more stable jurisdiction of Cyprus and the EU. However the lack of interest in copper due to the green movement being based on fraud, lies and it not economically worth engaging in. Besides which how much is it to insure an electric car against battery fires?
Despite them having a gold medal.in delaying things I do believe that they will start production at our now only 23.5% interest Tavsan deposit late next year.
But there isn't an ice cubes hope of getting Salinbas into product in the next decade un my opinion. Another opinion (for what it's worth).is that Ozaltin, being the controlling partner in the JV, will insist on fund ing the production plant out of Tavsan profits - in much the same way as the Tavsan plant was financed from the past few years Kiziktepe production. In other words I think there is a question mark over regular dividends rather than the special ones paid and long gone.
Ha ha - you're quite right, John.....it's only a game (regarding Burnley) and it's only money (here).
I did think I was buying into and exploration company with ambition to become a junior miner. It seems that the junior miner thing is not part of the plan but selling off any finds to fund future exploration (in simplistic terms). I'm just hoping Tavsan and then Salinbas come on stream to give a boost to profits (and the sp). Assuming that happens in the next couple of years - but who, quite frankly knows any more - I think that could be time up as far as AAU is concerned. We'll see, I guess....
Gooner mate invited me, C&B. I'm reciprocating. I have a ticket for him in the Longside for the return match in Feb. Don't think he's ever experienced the finer aspects of the north, mcuh (and Burnley in particular). Wonder what he'll make of a bene and hot.
Just hope the Clarets and Ariana come good over the next few months. Looking a tad brighter today here.
PS Lyle Foster comment - spot on. So sad to hear that.
C&B, LoB, re AAU, they have lost the audience. I don't think many thought MDV was pivotal to success but many of us who met him really believed in Sener. I don't think.that is any longer true. There have been poor business decisions (Ozaltin JV, increasinglylooking like Cyprus), lack.of progress across all the portfolio Little to look forward to except the much diluted interest in Tavsn that is hopefully about to come belatedly into production. Then nothing for years. We have a promise of half a billion pound company, while going in the wrong direction towards 20m. What do we do?.Keep believing after (in my case) 7 depressing years? Can't say how much I am beginning to worry about this company. For you 2 its worse, you have Burnley to worry about too!!
Perking up?
‘ P1D - Speak for yourself, my dear old thing......’
I do my best to speak for just three of us, Harry ‘Commie Joe’ Styles, Gareth ‘Dear Precious John’ Gates and my good self.
Woof Woof.
hi lob, what on earth were you doing sitting with the ****nal fans at the emirates. its not been what we were expecting so far, and doesn't help with the lyle foster news, but he's health is more important than playing football.
i've been disappointed with aau and watching burnley also means its all doom and gloom at the moment. i'm hoping for some news on tavsan early 2024 and it may help the sp a little, but it won't be a huge lift.
P1D - Speak for yourself, my dear old thing......
These are the posts of old men who have not got the time in life to sit through this to 2030 and beyond.
It would seem we will become an exploration company taking royalty and streams, but the earth green billionaire philanthropists hate gold, metals and mining so we are fighting that to.
I'm regretting not selling out at 5p!
Trouble is that wwhen the shares are illiquid, like AAU is, very few would havr been able to sell a significant number at 6p without causing the SP to plummet. Of recent years, and I mean years, every new price is a buying opportunity , but a few weeks after is an opportunity at even less. I do blame the BoD. MDV has been chairman for far longer than is considered desirable for good governance, and he is hard to shift because of his shareholding. The CEO and geological spokesperson sits in Australia and a different bloody hemisphere from the main assets. And we need another prospect in the portfolio like we need a hole in the head. Just seems to me that Sener gets bored and needs a new toy un the toy box while losing concentration and interest on the ones he already has. How long have they had the great white hope Salinbas which of course they gave away control of.
Hi John - just looking at the timings of those trades, it seemed likely that it was one seller making multiple trades in quick succession. Anyhow, I absolutely take your point and share your frustration. Looking back - hindsight's a wonderful thing and all that - should have got out at 6p.
Hi C&B - whether to stick or twist. I'm now below my average of 2.2p. I was also hoping for an update on Tavsan and when the mine's construction will be completed and in production. It's all a bit like watching Burnley right now.....having loads of potential but not quite producing. (I was at The Emirates on Saturday and sat with the Gooners (long story), who were reasonably impressed with us....but then it's easy to be slightly patronisingly pleasant to the opposition when you've won 3-1. I hope you enjoy the WHU game in a couple of weeks)
I've been hanging on in here for years thinking that Salinbas would be the key to success. Looks like that was my big mistake. They are now getting involved in places I don't want to be invested in, yet still no news from Salinbas, so I have a decision to make now, and its not am I going to the West Ham game on 25th November....anyone want a few million shares ?
Noted - I've had a nibble.
LoB it's not one seller it many sellers exiting because this has turned from an appealing share to a typical AIM no hoper that is a lifestyle company for its board. If it was a big seller, a theory that has been put forward in the other board for years tben they would have cleared their shareholdeing years ago or would have had to issue RNSs as they crossed bands of holdings. LTHs are getting out. And who could blame them.
worse than pathetic. the ozaltin deal was the poor politically motivated deal i thought it was at the time it was announced. wish i'd exited years ago, this whole situation has become over hyped.no progress at salinbas, over 50% intersst lost in productive resources after virtually beibg given away, complete mess in cyprus and several investments in politically worrying territories, turkey included. this **** show is back to the 1.5p - 2p range of 10 years ago..
3 million shares in 5 trades, shifted by what (I'm guessing) looks like a big seller. Hopefully that's them out of the way and normal service might resume. P/E not much over 5 right now.....a bargain or a gamble?
Just in case you are still festering here, how are your and will this SP ever see the daylight?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UJCMfuFtSQ
oh and not to forget 'Dear John' are you still feeling precious and how is your garden gate?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIK5jncrZR0
Will this SP hit 4p or 5p in 2024?
Remind me on again why does the world need more copper because its not for electric cars, that idea is going nowhere just like the ESG folly.
‘
Hi John. Good luck with that, my friend and of course you know that Chris Sangster is a member of your Ariana team, albeit a " Non Executive Director".
If you wanna be adventurous...consider RTX Corp on the NYSE. Regards DJ’
Why the gap down in July?
Are you still in VLRS?
DJ
Hope you are doing well.
I'm not really suggesting I expect AAU will rescue Scotgold, or that I think they should. I just noticed SG was suspended, recognised the name of the co-founder and had a cursory glance at it. Read their last presentation from 2022 which at an operational level it seemed to have a bit going for it - in production for a start rather than 10 years away!! Quite reasonable reserves and low cost. Didn't (still haven't) look at the financing but obviously judging by recent news for them they didn't get the geology right and I assume a lot of expensive debt (not sure if secured or not). Geology of course is where AAU seems to excel plus CS must have as deep a knowledge of the SG as anyone. I would be surprised if AAU hasn't looked at it. A purchase from the administrators/ liquidators debt free could be viable? I leave that to the AAU BOD, in fairness if they felt it was good I would believe them, they aren't daft. Maybe I am just attracted by having some more production in the bag since so much was given away at Tavsan in the disastrous Ozaltin deal.
