Surprised the word approval has not been met here with some excitement lol
operational plan NOT Final Permit to Drill.

Great read & thanks for putting it up.
Had read it previously & as I've said before, always a good idea to go back & read things again, which I have just done. We now have more details & we know a bit more about the subject matter. What a difference a few words can make when you read an article 2nd or 3rd time around & things seem to make more sense or give you a greater insight into what it all actually means.
Like the last 8 words in the piece below, taken from the linked article.
All operations will be conducted from the ice pads. Facilities used for the operation will
include a satellite office camp, storage and laydown areas, a communication tower, and
maintenance shops. The staging pad will be constructed one mile west of the Dalton Highway at
milepost 386. The primary drilling objectives include testing and evaluating the Seebee
Formation for "oil, a target found in surrounding exploration wells".
Just how much is there, is the burning question.

Thanks for putting me right. My apologies for excitement
Sequence and Schedule of Events - 20 days from start of rig mobilisation to spud, good to know.
Bdog I thought we were spudding mid-Feb, not mobilising.
this is the link for PTD notification
go back 12 m and you will find the winx permit.

"AEA proposed the following schedule for 2019-2020. All dates are approximate and may be altered by weather or logistic requirements. The dates will also change because some of them precede this decision. The schedule provides the Division with an overall idea of the sequence and schedule of events. The Division reviewed this schedule with the expectation that dates early in the sequence would move back and that later dates for finishing drilling, demobilization and clean-up would remain the same. "
LeMajor - I guess if we start mobilising soon it will be mid Feb spud (+20 days)
Ice road:
Start: 1st Jan (est)
Ice road progress update RNS: 25% in 15 days
Est completion: 60 days / end Feb
Can all change so just estimates at the moment. But without an estimated spud date (other than 'Feb') and using the date from the schedule linked today and the progress on the latest update I would estimate 20 Feb spud date.
Oh I see what you mean, that actually makes 20 March. :/
Well last update did say : "Operational activity for Charlie-1 progressing to plan for February 2020 spud"
So I'm guessing the ice road construction ramps up over time....
*shrugs*
Somewhere I picked up on a mid-Feb spud but more recent RNS's just say Feb. - so could be a bit later than was in my mind. A couple of days trundling down the ice road then maybe a week or so to get set up for the rig and other gear. I imagine we will het an update by Friday regarding permit and schedule.
I am think up date mit come after Monday 3RD after release of new shares .
88E are usually ahead of schedule. I am still expecting spud around mid feb.
15:54
Not sure where you got the always ahead of schedule bit from.
Icewine #1 delayed due to PTD issue (think late gravel pad multi user concerns)
Icewine#2 delayed rig arrived late previous job
Winx that was a Feb 2019 spud and was commenced during month OK
Everything as far as we know looks good, certainly the weather is playing ball but although I would dearly like an early spud so we can get as much as we can out of the season, I am not counting any chickens.
Certainly ahead of schedule with the cash raise!
Photos? Do we have any? I know there isn't an awfull lot of light.

The dates being proposed start and finish dates. Ice road was to be completed by 1st Jan , but I seem to remember them being delayed by 2 weeks due to warmer than expected weather. Must have been longer, otherwise road would have been finished by 15th Jan. I think the road must be pretty much completed by now.
16:46 at the rig contract announcement it was a February spud, all recent announcements have stated mid Feb, there is a big caveat against the timing detailed in the plan, they do not even get to prime target correct :-)
Weather is good for freezing water, we will be OK.
Agreed Brom. I was just making the point that in those plans, their time to complete the road was 2 weeks, whenever they actually started. 30 miles, working both ends, 1 mile per day. So by my reckoning the road should be complete by now.
Tarth, how many trucks are in use?
Are you saying if half of the trucks start at the other end they will complete the ice road in half the time?
Just a thought, how do they get to the other end? :-)
Major, no idea! Just that when I was researching Ice Road construction, it was generally the case that they work from both ends, in stretches of 15 miles. That would certainly fit with the estimates in the plans, that the road was to be started on Jan 1st, and completed by Jan 15th. I've gathered that the rate of progress is 1 mile per day........from each end. May be wrong.
Do they start moving the rig as the road progresses in front of them or does the whole route need to be completed first?
Often wondered.
TP
My point is, if they could get the trucks to the other end, why would they need an ice road?
