A four day week; and start of a new month often sees short term rises.
So I am going for 123p.
GLA vodders - you need it LOL
Cheers - CSDI
Nope as I said in an earlier post I kept 1 share , and I am not excited about it going down - as you know i worked there for 22 years . It was a great company to work for but the current CEO is not suitable to run the company . He has done nothing but increase debt and it is clear the markets have no faith in him . I was proud to work for the company despite what some people may think but even employees should be allowed to vent their anger at the management . There are some amazing people working for the company and all Read is doing is running it into the ground . I dont have a crystal ball and dont know who would be better at the job but there must be plenty of people out there that are and value shareholders ( even my 1 share ) - until Read goes or a major deal goes through to reduce at least some of the debt this share is going no where fast .
sotonspike. I hope you enjoy your holiday. It might be the last one you can afford at this rate. Have you any idea what has caused this big fall in vod? I would make a general enquiry on here, but all I will get is the usual sack Nick Read, knee jerk nonsense. But if anybody on here can give an intelligent, constructive, opinion that would be helpful. Worrying times?
So mikey you say you have sold all your shares and you seem to be getting excited about the prospect of it dropping right down, it does all seem a bit strange
just had a look at the states OMG take cover come Tuesday morning.....
just spent all my funds on the holiday.....but yes a great buying opportunity......
Wow - carnage in the states - things are getting very dodgy . Looks like sub £1.10 is a real possibility again . Still Read knows what hes doing ??????????
Hi Soton, was only joking about your sp curse lol, hope you have a good holiday and you get your 130 when you return, but should it go the other way, maybe topping up territory instead :-)
The pariah hasn't gone on his hols yet so.....next week dare i say a rise to 130.....i'm so sorry for my awful predictions but am only human.....Dan Mikey agree to disagree Dan the more you bite the more Mikey will push....have to admit some of his posts are funny as some of your replies are quite humorous....c'mon vodders
Vodafone needs to sell everything.
Australia, India, vantage towers, spain italy portugal
Next week close I think down further to 118.5p
I think NR is doing a fab job.
However I’m not an expert on him or Vodafone.
I’m holding on to dividends as long as they come in -
I’m happy. And my view is that high inflation will reduce the apparent debt levels as the inflation will reduce the size of the debt even 8% this year, maybe 5% next year. So the high debt was a masterpiece from the inflation perspective!
However I am not a Vodafone expert so could be wrong. But that is my view and I think the ceo is a very good man for the job. Vodafone does not need “deal making” as the media claims
1.18 next Friday
Hi robleo. Just reading your very interesting post about Nick Read, Many on here have said he should go. You mention his handsome salary & bonuses, but I would suggest than anyone who replaced him promising they would do a better job would require an even higher salary & bonuses. So when they don't deliver we just sack them & get someone even more expensive. If you wan't top quality management these days, I am afraid you have to pay it. & even then you might not get it.
scratch49 of course the more the merrier, noted and good luck :-)
Hi Robleo and all ...
May I join the Friday close competition and say 1.20 .
yes one to be left to the experts i think dan, but based on Vodafone's performance since 2018 as explained, i certainly wouldn't have any reason for defending him either, but one for the experts i think
robleo. surely the point her is, who can do a better job. No point getting rid of Nick Read unless he is replaced by someone who is better. It costs a lot of money to replace the c.e.o. of vodafone, so if you end up with someone else who doesn't have this magic wand to turn things around, then it is a waste of money. Nick has been encouraged to merge with other telecoms co's, but as soon as he even considers it he is put down. Of course the press will often have a go, because that is what they paid to do, but all this armchair expert sack them all, is nonsense isn't it. It would be great if we could come up with some intelligent opinions on this, as for me,I don't know the answer so I will leave it to the B.O.D. There may be all sorts of reasons why the vod sp is doing badly, which have nothing to do with bad management.
Hi Dan, yes i noticed the dow and nas was up a bit of a shocker that one, think it will be a case of tossing a coin for up or down next week, but fingers crossed for an up week
Dan my question on nick reed, I'm no expert on business management that's not my line of work, but looking at the charts from 2018 i would certainly have no reason to think he is doing a good job based on those charts, that's all I'm saying, so will leave that one for the experts, enjoy your long weekend and hope we have good weather
robleo. 1.26 for me. Thank you for your hard work, but what is the booby prize? One vodafone share perhaps? But I blame sotonspike for his crazy bullish prediction? But I had to go higher didn't I? Did you see vod last night on the nasdaq, & the dow up 600 points. What happened there? Well done fred. Next week I will go 1.26. mole-man only in3rd place,?call yourself a de-ramper? shame on you? For any snooker fans on here? Come on rocket ronnie!!
I also think there will be an improvement next week 131 for me
Congrats FredRubble, well done.
Strong bounce from here and rally up to a 132p close next friday... that's my outrageously optimistic guess for next week.
Thanks C.S.D.I. although you do have a pop at me quite a lot, I know you mean well, Bit early for skiing, but that would cheer me up, Of course I am cheesed of about the vod share price, but I don't do knee jerk, sack Nick Read posts because I am not expert enough to know who should replace him. Perhaps he should go, only time will tell. Whoever replaces him will still get stick if vod doesn't perform, from the armchair experts on here.
CSDI, you are getting very close , but as your teacher would tell you, could do better, have a good weekend mate

Just a little question for all those who think, Nick Reed is doing a good job ?
surely the buck must stop at the top as they get paid a handsome salary and bonuses to make a difference, I believe he started in 2018, so please can you look at the 10 year chart from 2018, and let us all know why you think he is doing a good job cheers
