It's a great company imo. I don't really have any huge expectations for the sp, although it looks quite undervalued, but in any case I'm happy to just hold it as a proxy for gold.
"You do not want to be out of this anytime before jupiter annonces they have finished selling"
Why on earth would they make an announcement about what they intend to do in the future? That doesn't make any sense.
Jupiter still hold 10% so be careful, they may dump into any rise
Yes they did... that should have been to provide reassurance that information in the public domain was accurate, not to tip them off that they were facing a write down of assets, revenue and bad debt recognition, which is obviously what happened. Why else would Jupiter offload in such a hurry? It's criminal.
It's a ****ing disgrace!
onsolidground - yeah it seems over done, but who knows, it's been absolute carnage but thought we'd turned a corner yesterday... I have been suspicious at Jupiter offloading at such a heavy loss, that's just straight forward crooked, insider dealing, it stinks. Luckily I didn't have too much in here, just a smallish punt at 20p hoping for a bounce and resisted averaging down, it still stings though and my genuine sympathy to those with bigger holdings.
Looks like a write down of stock value and revenue recognition, drop seems overdone... again
From The Guardian:
"Ministers are rowing back from threatening energy companies with a bigger windfall tax, after Liz Truss and her ally Kwasi Kwarteng made plain they would not support this option.
Nadhim Zahawi, the chancellor, and Kwarteng, the business secretary, will meet energy companies on Thursday morning, but multiple government sources said the discussion would be with electricity generators to discuss investment, wholesale prices and security of supply, rather than a windfall tax.
A business department source made clear Kwarteng was “against windfall taxes” after he previously opposed the imposition of one when Rishi Sunak as chancellor brought it in earlier this year."
It's already bouncing from an oversold position at 67p so hopefully that's the bottom for now
Clued - I'm sure they'll find some wriggle room within the existing law and maybe a year or two down the line if the oil price falls back and household bills 'normalise' then it could be paused. But at the moment there is a lot of anger within the general population directed at the O&G industry and you have the UN coming out and accusing oil companies of obscene greed and calling for further taxes. If Truss even suggested scrapping it in the near future she would be lynched and pretty much condemn the party to opposition People are very angry. Personally I think that anger is misdirected, unjustified even, but rationality goes out the window when emotions are running high.
Liz Truss won't cancel the windfall tax, not a chance, it would be electoral suicide given all the misguided press about greedy oil companies, even she isn't that stupid.
"its dividend pay day today is it not"
Ah ok that's possibly what's driving the sp today, divi reinvestments
All the best. It's been a torrid year for many, most will be nursing losses.
Exactly, the irony is that it's the same numpties who are bellyaching about market manipulation who are also mad keen to offload their shares and causing the stagnation of the share price that they're complaining about.
It must be very uncomfortable holding such big paper losses but they are just paper losses and RR aren't going bust, so unless you need the cash right now there is little doubt that you will get back to where you need to be. Might take a bit of time, months maybe even a year or two, but it will get there. Try not to beat yourselves up too much, nobody has a crystal ball, everybody messes up at some point in this game, even the pros. Good luck.
"Be patience this is MMS for you... They will mug you and they are doing that right now."
They're not mugging you, they're... get this... making a market. The clue is in the name. You have complete control over your buys and sells, nobody is forcing you to do anything and nobody is mugging you.
Logged a complaint about what, the sp not going your way? Ffs grow up, people are selling the news. Sick of the nonsense posted on these boards, it's the same with every single share, the exact same comments when the price goes against people, they'd rather blame anyone and anything but themsleves, it'sad and pathetic.
@Robleo - Yeah I get you. Good luck to you too, bud.
@retirement - "just saying 83p close looks about right from my prediction ;-)"
Fair call. Pot noodles tonight then, save the socks for tea tomorrow.
@retirement
Get those socks ready, you could be eating them for tea tonight
