What's amazing Slug is not just how unintelligent you are, but how you practice to keep yourself so unintelligent.
Did you not understand anything I wrote.
All is checkable.
Everything changed last week …. Not long now
Jezzoo that's true to a certain extent, on Baseload we need what is termed fast, this is Coal, gas, oil .
However tidal could one day replace this, but we are building too slowly. Nuclear you think would be fast, but it's slow, so cannot be part of Baseload.
It's much more complicated that our most unintelligent poster makes out.
However the UK is moving faster than Europe and in the right direction.
Quick note we can assume a percentage of Baseload if we build over capacity, but it can only be a small percentage as it cannot be depended on.
“Indeed, in statements to the media, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Xavier Vera, indicated that "all the projects that are underway continue to be under way" and that the mining projects that may obtain an environmental license without prior consultation are : Curipamba, La Plata, Loma Larga, Cascabel, Warintza and Mirador Norte, which are mainly focused on the extraction of gold, copper and silver and represent an investment of more than USD 10 billion.”

Quady.
Your second point confirms the fact that we still require energy from fossil fuels at least until we have a nuclear option.
We shouldn't have to be at the mercy of the wind and sunlight to power a modern society.
Personally I'm all for reliable cheap green energy as it leaves the remaining fossil fuels in less demand and therefore at a reasonable price to power my Corvettes and Harleys and fly me around the planet.
Slug, what I am on about is not outages it's about running the voltages within ranges so power can be delivered safely and is usable.
As I said the most unintelligent poster on here.
Look up Baseload and try and understand the maths behind it.
Yes of course I was an electrical engineer and electronics engineer otherwise how on earth could I have become a technical analyst.
Just shows you haven't a clue.
"The Guardian of all papers"? Just because it doesn't reflect your views, you don't expect it to fall in numbly behind a Boris government? Comment is free facts are sacred. Without a paywall facts are free too; thank them for that at least.
Ok Slug reasons why today's technology can't have a standalone green grid.
First the 2.5% rule on current demand devices.
Second volt drop across a green grid which is dependent on weather.
Third Baseload.
As I said the most unintelligent poster on here.
For some reason or another certain individuals react poorly to covid, I lost a very fit and active friend in his early 40's and a former pro athlete and he had the vaccine. Had covid myself but didn't stop me training as I generally ignored its power over me and just felt like a slightly bad cold.
This has probably been posted but haven't seen it. What holdings to BHP & Newcrest have in GCP?
Are these holdings large enough to negate the effect of their dilution of their holdings in SOLG?
I like Slug. He makes one think. Occasionally rude and offensive, but he does challenge orthodoxy, which is good. Quady on the other hand…
Get well Addicknt. COVID hasn’t affected your incisive mind and the ability to elucidate.
Ah, bless you cookiescrew. Stay warm.
Ahh.
Z
Xoros lol psml at that one :):):)
Twice as many cables, twice as much copper for the grid! What's not to like?
It's certainly not impossible it's just cables.
Well you're no electrical engineer Slug otherwise you would know why that's impossible.
SharketMare because you don't understand something don't rubbish it.
It's the reason we have not received a bid.
I know you don't understand, because you keep saying we are near the end.
Try reading and thinking.
That's the working of a diverse book, because some are of the same opinion, doesn't mean they want the same thing.
No one is going to sell out cheap to help out BHP.
I know you don't get that, but that's what my post says.
Try reading it.

Quady, that post at 16.47 yesterday is one of the most stupid things I have ever read on this BB, and that is really saying something.

Addicknt, it is very rare you post something I disagree with and I've learned a lot from reading your posts on here. Wishing you all the best.
Look after yourself addicknt.
COVID is really nasty, good to hear your making good progress.
Hi addicknt, glad to hear that you've come through Covid okay. Quite a few folk in our neck of the woods have had it in the last 3 weeks or so.
As you say....the next few weeks/months will be interesting.
Good luck, stay on the mend!
Sorry. "GOT" under his skin.
Hi Jezzoo
I'm very proud we got mentioned by Q. We must have really go under his skin.
Can you remember how many times he said he was never going to post on this site again? What a liar.
All the best
