You forget to mention opportunity cost of funds tied up in SOLG. If you had all or a majority of your funds tied up in SOLG you would be underperforming market by quite a bit over last few years. So much potential. I hope the new CEO and the foresight to actually do a farm out sets SOLG in the right direction.
It appears that all you have to do to get loads of recommendations today is **** solgold off. If that's how you are all feeling and convinced it's at it best price the do me a favour and practice what you are preaching and sell up and invest in GME or AMC or dogecoin and see how you do!!!! This has plenty to go IMHO and certainly won't be selling up till the fat bloke has sung ; o )
daveri007,
I said GGP was overvalued at 37p and was proven right. It might not go sub 20p, but lets face it... if I told you it was going to test 22p when the price was 37p you would have laughed into your cornflakes. A few weeks later, you're crying into your muesli. That's the risk you take these days in a market that is divorced from reality not once but about 3 times over.
Bbg a lot of new posters and some of the good old posters too. Amazing how they flip and change between trades.
RK
Which may be sooner than many think IMO
The night is always darkest just before the dawn or something like that ..... anyway a crap day but we’re all still alive
If all this defeatist talk is representative, no wonder the SP is down here...
45/50p to get out completely...?
Once you persuade yourself of that its only a short step to cutting your holdings in fear around these levels...
I DON'T think BHP will pay 100p...I DO think the Chinese might...
But Hannam have placed a revised value of 105p/share, with only $75m for the non Alpala projects...
If you don't have to sell, why would you...investments are for the long haul...
While I might sell half at 50p plus, the rest is in as a long term core holding in my portfolio...or until we're bought out...
hi FTJNY you make a very valid point; Mather seems to have been almost written off by many posters and obviously from April he will be sitting in a back seat - but his huge shareholding and (one assumes) continued significant contacts/influence in Ecuador, will likely ensure that he'll still be able to lean forwards and do a bit of backseat driving every now and then ?? As long as someone else has their foot on the accelerator and pushes it further into the carpet, then Mather's soon-to-be backseat roll is a positive rather than a negative in my book, as long as he sees fit to hold his shares :)
i didnt tell anyone what to do
Ortherncopper, what a load of tosh
17 posts and you’re telling me what we should consider jumping at 45p and or JV.
Smells like you’re agenda is aligned with BHP. Bugger off.
To all serious shareholders, please remain patient as there are lots of new posters joining our chat board who are hear to spread fear or doubt in the likely outcome.
This will go for a price greater than £1 and if pushed, BHP will happily pay this figure, if not a lot more.
You can bet on one thing , Nick with 90m personal Solg shares plus maybe another 200m controlled by his companies will NOT want Solg to be sold on the cheap and maybe now more than ever he has a vested personal interest in ensuring the share price is much higher than it is currently IMHO.
zoros can't really disagree with any of your last post to Bozi and moi - other than to say you got the date of your initial investment wrong .... it was 1700 of course !!
Last time we were below 27p we bounced to 43p in just seven trading days...(Sept 29 to October 9)...
If I were Machiavellian I might have noticed that the SP has fallen 20% since Nick 'stepped down' and 27% since the AGM...
I expect Nick is quietly observing goings on...
Nothing to add to Zoros and Ortherncopper posts. They’ve said it all. I’ll be out at similar levels, if we ever get there, but probably leaving a wee bit on the table for old times sake.
68,588 at Closing SP of 27p...
wouldn't want to be out of this??? I'm starting to wish I wasn't in this.....
but the FOMO kept me from selling, and still does. I considered 60p as a realistic exit point when i started to buy over 3 years ago.
I never believed any of the cheerleaders shouting £1-£1.50 even £2, but 60p seemed a real possibility.
back then I was hoping the MRE2 would create an uplift to get us there.... then hoping the PEA would create an uplift, then drilling permits, then Porvenir, then PFS..... etc etc etc etc... but it never does ...
now of the view, I may sell the lot when/if we ever get back to close to 45p... so disappointing. but im gritting my teeth and putting up with the pain until then... please just do a JV, put us all out of our misery..
RK I said workers....read before you comment
Z
Solgold's Linked In website states the Company has 116 employees...
This has the hallmarks of a cheap sell its going to go for 60P I can feel it in my water!
Still that's a double your money if you pile in now!
As he's remaining as a NED you can assume he's on the Alpala Committee...but just one voice...
RICH3r/Bozi - In response to your concerns about my loyalty to this stock.....I have never waivered since I joined in 1734, I believe.
This 'find' and future associated and related finds that Solg will probably uncover in Ecuador...has the makings of a once in a lifetime discovery (provided the geopolitical will remains in favour of course). Those who joined at or close to those early days and who stay the distance will become very very wealthy individuals, of that I have no doubt.
I have never ever had any doubt about the endgame (production @ Alpala).
What has changed for me, is that I feel that NM lost his way - got distracted - thought he knew better. The Cadastre/tenements have become too cumbersome for someone of his stature.
He's built an army of workers (700+) and yet we haven't dug one 'sod' of soil, he's "diversified" his financial portfolio (accepting interests from all avenues), so that there are now too many 'interested parties' in the frame. He's drilling left right and centre (when the hub of his activities - Alpala gets sidelined). And to cap it all.....the silly sod goes and gets himself voluntarily sacked!
For well before covid - months and months before...this stock was treading water. It was borderline festering. Last year (Oct) there was a glimmer of hope when we 'rose from the ashes' and hit 40+ a figure previously reached in may of 2018 FFS!
And to support this, there was a flurry of news/podcasts/webinars from Nm which stimulated "volume".....markets like volume.......
Now we are back to festering again with little or nothing on the horizon...except a glimmer of hope in some posts that there could be a takeover/JV imminent.....yeah, right....Zzzzzzzz.
So - as much as I had wished to see the end game (which has been pushed back again to 2027 now), I need to get out and with a little skin in the game if possible. There is much more going on at a more exciting pace.
Feck knows why I hang in there.....probably just to wind Novochoc up! Probably 'cos I genuinely believe this is such a unique find and I want to be there when the champagne flows!
But at the end of the day...time IS more valuable than money for me....and the clock is ticking.
So I will continue to promote Solg (because it is a great find) and I will continue to plan to leave this paint manufacturer as soon as I see an escape route.
GL to the faithful - you will be rewarded handsomely.
Z
would love to find out
Here is a direct quote from the DGR website on Nick's 'retirement for personal reasons'...
"After his retirement as CEO, Mr Mather intends to remain on the Board as Non-Executive Director, and will continue to support SolGold’s ongoing exploration focus in Ecuador, independent financing and strategic corporate initiatives. During Mr Mather’s tenure, SolGold has been on a similar trajectory to several previous corporate successes of Mr Mather’s. In addition to the world class Alpala Project, SolGold has established a broad tenement portfolio in Ecuador potentially capable of delivering multiple world class copper and / or gold discoveries, as demonstrated by the initial drilling results from the Porvenir Project."
I think someone will make a bid soon. The trouble is, as the Italian said, we could have sold it 3 years ago probably for more money. If that proves to be the case, it will be down to mistakes from the board as redknight pointed out.
At that stage, we wont be able to help you anymore. But you will always have the boards reassurances ringing in your ears to keep you going. All the best.
Ps you never had any money with Bernie Madoff did you?
Well I have to say it!
I wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend!!!! I got in first
The RNS which advised that NM was stepping down did not mention the Apala committee. I assume from this that Nick will remain on the Apala committee moving forward - I will try and get an answer from the company
