Porky, good morning! You were wondering about the veterinary diagnostics industry? I've just had Dylan take a look for me and this is what he found! "The global veterinary diagnostics market size valued at USD 4.4 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 9.5 billion by 2026."
It'd be great for Novacyt to be involved and have even a little bite at that cherry!
TR1 in 20 minutes we wonder? GLA
@Wilson63
Interesting pints raised
Well why not, We have PCR active in the racing circuit for tests on the Jockey, so may as well PCR Test on the horses against EQUID herpesvirus :)
Not sure what the size of the Veterinary diagnostics market is currently? reports on google suggest that the global veterinary diagnostics market size was estimated at USD 4.86 billion in 2019 and is expected to reach USD 5.36 billion in 2020.
Certainly no reason why Q16 couldn't have assays developed to pick up a whole range of tests in this sector including Bovine and Poultry. Either that our acquire a player in this field and expand the services further. Without doubt its another string to their bow.
Now Novacyt have the financial clout to expand, no reason why they can't launch a specific division attacking this sector also, makes sense especially if the plan is to become a multi sector global diagnostics player.
Gizmo555's link re squid herpis this is my favourite on initial links as it mentions the q16 I'm presuming perfect for a equine vet

Gizmo555 I can also see what you are alluding to here with the mygo

As vanv pointed out earlier China seemed to come to a screeching halt, thanks for the Pointers though.
Lastly but not least eljefegrande yes the surname connection what were the chances lol.
Bloodshot that's. Very funny now going to try and look at Gizmo555's clues as I'm wide awake, perhaps if ShaunP is about you could send me over some of that pear liqueur:)
Troublesome, no not Shaun of the Dead..but if Shauns surname was Scruggs...well..

Not sure who the rather portly feller with the gun might be :)
All in fun so hope no one gets offended.

The release of the regulatory approved clinical diagnostic assays must now be imminent, and as all now have the research use only version, I expect decent sales sales.
*******************************************************************************
I agree,
However, I suspect that Novacyt is already selling the RUO version in large quantities
Why you may ask, because they are being purchased by national / state authorities for "Research" and not for "Clinical" reasons. It doesn't take much to check that Novacyt SNPsig work as per the instructions, they just need to sequence the samples for confirmation.
Some health authorities must be desperate to know what "Variants" they have in their area ASAP, in order to instigate proper & effective quarantines.
Think testing stool samples ..is the future ..not just covid ...countries will follow chinas lead ...primerdesign have strong connections in the far East ...pre covid ....
B2HS2L ,Ref SNP sig assays ,Seem to remember someone posting doc giving the 28th March as release date.
Hi gizmo. China, the one that got away. When Paul Eros did his interview with Sky, and Graham Mullis did his interview with CNBC in February last year, China FDA approval for our PCR C-19 assay looked almost certain. I suspect that it may have been derailed for political reasons! Pre-Covid, Novacyt had already made a successful inroad into China, achieving FDA approval for one product, I think. Let's hope that door opens again for Novacyt in the future, for obvious reasons.
Temuchin Your Part post "Apologies if I had an impact on your decision to depart and must say it was more frustration at being caught out at the Jan peak than anything"
***************************************************************
I think we were all caught out, and hence the frustration that we didn't take the opportunity to partly "de-risk" our portfolios when the price was at the top!
The biggest reason for the drop of the share price, (in my opinion) was & still is the uncertainty of the DHSC contract(s), "ShaunP" optimistic 2020 sales revenue would not have been taken seriously by the "Professionals", who in my opinion decide the ongoing share valuation based upon the two broker reports.
As you indicate, sometimes this board needs to come back to reality, more questioning is required?
Hopefully, by all working together, we will all exit, richer, if not wiser.
Shaun,
Ref SNP sig assays, - from the 02.02.2021 RNS:
"The SNPsig® assays are designed to run on central laboratory systems and on the Company's q16 and q32 rapid PCR systems as research-use-only products.
The Company expects to launch the regulatory approved clinical diagnostic assays next month."
The release of the regulatory approved clinical diagnostic assays must now be imminent, and as all now have the research use only version, I expect decent sales sales.
Hi van see China making anal swabs for covid a must ... ...could see that coming ...pathflow ...
MacTrader Your Part post "Good to see you again ShaunP. For the record, my personal belief ORIGINALLY for Novacyts full years sales was £700m. It was only your research, with members of this forum, which brought me back to reality."
*************************************************************
Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
Working out a sales forecast was not easy, with different conflicting parameters, eg their manufacturing ability from July to sell 10m kits per month for July on wards etc, the tweet re the 50m kits / tests sold etc!.
Then we had that the "Elisa Antibody" test, Production capable of 3m per month, did Novacyt sell any?
Then the WinterPlex test, again a possible "Game Changer", back in August, however very few people caught flu this winter due to the wearing of "face masks" & "Social distancing", so perhaps their sales were much reduced than what was originally anticipated by both Novacyt & DHSC?
We did however have warnings that the introduction of the q16 / q32 was perhaps much slower than anticipated, but I did reduce my figures for 2020.
In hindsight, some of our research should have perhaps sounded a few more "warning signals"?
However 2021 looks very promising - SNPsigs must be flowing very well out of the despatch department
Great news Shaun P - good to see you back. Hope we can make 'P'eace... You have been missed.
Apologies if I had an impact on your decision to depart and must say it was more frustration at being caught out at the Jan peak than anything, seen the SP dive so many times with NCYT that I should have known better. Always felt you'd return one day, and this time sounding refreshed, focused and more positive than ever!
I see a turn for the books is due... let's hope the SP is ready to pivot, pounce and power upwards!
Semper Augustus!
Good to see you again ShaunP. For the record, my personal belief ORIGINALLY for Novacyts full years sales was £700m. It was only your research, with members of this forum, which brought me back to reality. We were all taking a shot in the dark, definitely happy with where the company is (just not the share price).
ShaunP (20:16) - The feeling is mutual!
Despite your shabby treatment here last month, I have no doubt that during your absence, you have not only been maintaining but actively developing the intelligence framework which you set up here last summer, for everyone's benefit. As you know the ever-changing intelligence picture means that current intell. does not remain current for long; hence the continuing need for "Bletchley Park". Intelligence products need experienced and knowledgeable 'handlers'. Welcome back.
We know that this month the RUO, SNPsig PCR assay portfolio will be extended to clinical diagnostic use, in the same way that the first PCR test was, back in February last year. We also know that Novacyt is involved in variant diagnostic studies both in the U.K. U.S. and Latin America, no doubt supporting clinical trials and studies in the Covid-19 testing world. A mutating virus, spawning variants of concern and interest, will play directly to one of the real strengths of this company; its Bio-informatics Surveillance Group. SNPsig in the current climate will quickly become a monetised and cash generative product for NCYT.
Semper August remains protected and is "wintering" very well.
Your return will bring some much-needed structure and coherence to this b.b. once more. "Bletchley Park" is the most important "thread" of all, imo.
VanV
Keep it real and honest.
Bing and Shaun thanks for that info it is appreciated’
VanV your Post "The South African variant is responsible for 60% of the cases in S.A., but it has also been detected in 48 other countries."
*****************************************************************
Great to hear from you, "Bletchley Park" has been monitoring the situation over the past few weeks.
The "Mutations / Variants" is clearly going to be a very big challenge for our world, hopefully Novacyt will play an important part in supporting our health service during this critical time frame.

Patrm - This pandemic led to a systemic failure of governments, public health and regulatory authorities throughout the world, imo. The U.S. Food & Drug Agency on 29th February 2020, ditched its emergency use authorisation procedure in the middle of the emergency because it was not fit for purpose. The system could not cope with the sheer volume of EUA applications, one of which was Novacyt's!
SeanP, I doff my hat to your dedication and your very much welcomed return. Just try and ignore the animals during feed times as many many investors here appreciate your mere presence on the NCYT board. I very much so. May we all prosper on this incredible journey:)
