Thanks, master82. Great research as always.
Sadly, yet another month is flying by, but all we can do is wait.
Yes. Forgot about that new Gas pipeline agreement exporting Russian Gas to China via Mongolia. All 3 countries need each other.
Clear message from all side and say WE MUST LOOK AFTER FOREIGN INVESTOR.
Again this is what all message coming from Govt & Chamber of Commerce and why we have so much trade mission from Minister.
China & Russia very important trade partner and now open up to Canada & SE Asia and why mr J Ganbaat Mining Minister visit last few week.
Now think of Petro Matad who even help Govt organize new license round. Maybe understand now ;)
In coming few day RNS flow
Happy for MÀTD to have such strong position & Govt now running after foreign investment :)
PetroChina Daqing Tamsag (DATAMO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Chinese state-owned giant, has signed a binding memorandum of understanding with the company to work together on a non-exclusive basis to “enhance and accelerate” the development of the project to provide Mongolia with domestically produced natural gas, a cleaner source of energy than coal based power, which is the predominant fuel used in Mongolia at present.
It also includes provisions for DATAMO to invest in either TMK Energy (ASX:TMK) or the project on terms to be agreed in due course and subject to standard conditions such as formal agreements and regulatory approvals.
TMK has enjoyed technical success at the project with the Snow Leopard-3 well returning high permeability readings of 47 milidarcy (mD) over the 70m of coal intersected in the upper coal seam.
The result is broadly consistent with results in Snow Leopard-2 well and bodes well for future coal seam gas production.
//They going to need lot of Oil, Copper, Steel, iron, etc. to feed that economic expansion.//
If the current progress is much to go by only the younger ones here will live to see it!
I don't think it will get that bad. Remember china needs Mongolia to get oil gas from Russia. Pipe lines go through Mongolia .
Plus Mongolia is closest for metal and copper mines
Mongolia looking to attract foreign investors is defo an excellent sign.
Foreign investment will be needed for Mongolia's wider economic expansion plans, e.g. Renewable energy, New Oil refinery, infrastructure projets.
Plus Rio Tinto want to get that giant Copper deposit moving forward.
They going to need lot of Oil, Copper, Steel, iron, etc. to feed that economic expansion.
We might see bigger Foreign players coming to Mongolia for JVs etc to also get a slice of the largely untapped billions of barrels of Oil.
Thank you master very helpful but if relations between China and Mongolia worsen does it really help us. I mean where would we go the the oil that we do get and would it become uneconomical if China decide they will not play ball and take in Mongolian Oil.
The activists and government investing regarding coal theft and its caused a bit of sour relationship between China and Mongolia.
So it looks like better news for foreign investors
Mongolia blatantly broke the contract, China announced the lifting of the ban on Australian coal, Mongolia may regret it
min.news 2023 03 19
In the past few years, due to Australia's finger-pointing on China-related issues, China made a decision to restrict coal imports from Australia, and instead chose to import coal from Mongolia.
However, recently, due to Mongolia's unilateral breach of contract and unilateral price increase, China angrily lifted all restrictions on Australian coal. Mongolian coal may lose China, a huge consumer market, and Mongolia may regret it.
Let's review why China previously restricted the import of Australian coal
In 2020, Australia made a high-profile announcement that it would investigate the origin of the coronavirus in China, and followed the United States in making inappropriate remarks and implementing unfriendly measures on China's 5G cooperation, which led to the deterioration of relations between China and Australia. The import of some resources in Australia, including coal. It is precisely because of this restrictive measure that the proportion of China's imports of Australian coal has dropped from 49% to 3%.
After restricting coal imports to Australia in 2020, China finally chose Mongolia as China's first choice for coal imports after evaluating the market conditions of coal resources in Mongolia, Russia, India and other countries. The move enabled Mongolia to replace Australia and officially become China's largest coal supplier .
Exporting coal to China has brought continuous benefits to Mongolia
According to data from the website of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Mongolia will export 31.68 million tons of coal in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 101.7% , of which 90% will be exported to China. If China and Mongolia continue to maintain cooperation, Mongolia can gain huge benefits from it, and the cooperation will also enable both parties to achieve a win-win situation of mutual benefit and win-win results.
However, Mongolian coal is highly exported to China, and this situation has become a controversial topic in Mongolia
In December 2022, demonstrations related to China's coal trade broke out in Mongolia, and the Mongolian government launched an investigation. In order to rectify the country's coal trading market environment, unilaterally increase the price of coal exported to China, and even directly unilaterally terminate the coal sales agreement signed with Chinese companies, and even put the coal on the stock exchange for auction, further causing coal prices rise.
Some people think that this is because Mongolia has tasted the sweetness of cooperation with China, resulting in too much greed.
Since the new Australian Prime Minister took office in May 2022, the new Australian government has repeatedly stated that it hopes to repair relations with China , reversing the previous government's "anti-China vanguard" stance towards China; China has also expressed its since
I think they probably did discuss the PM issue as the meeting went on for a very long time.
I think chance of PM getting the license 100% as long as PM shows that they will contribute.
Plus recently there's some sort of issues with China and Mongolia.
From what I gather is that Mongolia is trying to get other countries to come in and not just rely on the two neighbours. China and russia.
Iamrich . I'm not sure whether they will have a meeting specially for the LP . But the governor is too busy. He's doing visits to different places on a daily bases
This will come good and deliver when it comes. No point in endless speculation and time-wasting analysis IMHO.
We have all waited a fair amount so a little bit more isn't going to make a big difference.
Anyway - how's that planning for the £1 SP party coming along?
Master82, what's your thoughts now, do you think the meetings and everything necessary to issue the LP is done and we are awaiting the award of the LP?
Have see price have very strong support at this place and fast & hard BUYING on any dip in day.

Petrochina had it too easy for too long. Govt now putting pressure on Petrochina to clean up their act and bring everything upto date.
Both PetroMatad and Petrochina should be working together and play an important role in taking Mongolian economy forward on multiple fronts through JV partnerships etc. Starting with Multi-well DQE deal and developing both Block 20 and Block 5.
They can also work together on new Licences being bid for. Some of them in the south close to Inner Mongolia multi-billion barrel Oil fields.
Should be win / win for all parties including Govt
