CWWX, i buy into what i believe is a good investment. I know a lot about IAG , EZJ and CCl through various means! It helps in making certain important decisions!!!! hahahaha.
Jeez Sunny. You taken too many happy pills and now spreading the love across the boards?
We still have those shorting muppets to shake off our backs.. going into results they should be getting more worried. Aug 2 is coming soon!!!
It looks good from the US. big jump in futures now after good CPI figures. yeahhhhhhh. For those saying £1.50 coming, not yet buddies!!!
Hopefully well above £1.70 by Friday and £1.90 by next results day. A lot depends on what happens today in US. Good luck all. DYOR always.
I guess whatever they give up to other airlines is in exchange for cash (like landing slots ), they are not giving it away for nil money.
So they are only buying 48% of the business for almost 500m !!!
Time for a new CEO at IAG
Conger
"Wouldn't IT be helpful ......."
Conger
Wouldn't be helpful if IAG were a little more forthcoming with their thinking / plans in this regard without giving away sensitive commercial secrets. Investor should know whats going on to a realistic degree.
It says divest not sell, which is ambiguous and you can just divest finance leases, people and infrastructure at least there is normally costs a lot to do that, unless sold as whole going concern where there is a premium.
So I think they be left with assets to sell off, and finance agreements they are tied in they all have be sold at less then then they paid for, as well as massive redundancy costs for staff. I obviously dont have the details, so it is broad brush view from my own considerable commercial experience.
Conger2, " just wish they focus on getting out of debt, cut costs and get dividends flowing." Agreed, but now there may be a Pilot strike in Aer Lingus as agreement couldn't be reached today with their Union. There seems to be no end to these wage demands, thus the data on UK Wage Inflation today @ 6% p.a. !!
Hi
Surely when they divest part of the business, this will be for a sum of money. Landing slots aren’t free. Maybe there is even a profit to be made like asset stripping and keeping the best bits?
I would walked away a long time ago. I love to see the maths on this, what they going to do with all the costs of the 52% they giving away, you know leases on planes staff etc...
It just can't be worth it with margins airlines work on, I have modelled plenty of businesses in my professional career (FCCA).
OMG it sounds a hell of a deal! Not... You could not make this up, give away half the business to buy it?
I just wish they focus on getting out of debt, cut costs and get dividends flowing.
In fairness hitmans right, the only prediction sundezena has had for I dont know how long is that its going up. We all wouldnt be here if we thought differently, I think shorters are a little bit more dedicated to their craft to spend time on this thread..... We are all just waiting.....hoping.....
Hitman, we were almost at £1.90 a few weeks back...and next time we climb we will hit £2..slowly slowly we will get there..plus one can make loads of money on the way by day trading too...next results will be very positive and will lift the share price..plus every day that passes debt is being repaid and we are closer to a divi..its a no-brainer really. thats why i bought more yesterday. Time will tell, hey???
(Updates headline an the first two paragraphs to include the statement from IAG)
International Consolidated Airlines Group ($IAG, $IAG), d/b/a IAG, on Monday submitted a new remedy package to the European Commission over its proposed takeover of Spanish carrier Air Europa.
In a Tuesday statement sent to MT Newswires in response to a Reuters report about the matter, the British Airways owner said the new proposals include "improvements that have come from the constructive dialogue" with the commission.
Reuters reported earlier on the same day, citing an unnamed source, that the new remedy package will surrender 52% of Air Europa's 2023 flights to competitors under previously signed memoranda of understanding.
The commission is expected to give its decision on the acquisition by Aug. 20.

Reports are coming on of an Air Europa report, stay tuned.
@sundz Hope you're right.. But the last 100 times you've made a prediction aren't a good barometer of being so
Jlb, yeah, others were right. You're a tw4t. Just my opinion and seems like other's too.
getting all defensive, typical child-like mentality.
In fact, every post from you have been puerile. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, so are we.
Jlbmth you are an angry little fellow.... Still waiting on your answer on profit sharing with all the airlines, if you are talking about codeshare its an entirely different thing........
By the way, on my system it shows we are close to £1.70!! not sure what your system says! you need an upgraded tool me think!
£1.50!! keep dreaming buddy!! plenty of muppets around these days!!! Yes, dont buy back in yet...hopefully we will go up from here and you will be left out!!! hahaha.
@Frodm First and foremost I did get slaughtered on here, for merely voicing an opinion, and certainly not mocking peoples hard earned money. Check your facts before you start making wild assumptions and accusations and being derogatory. Perhaps it is you that should listen o hi sown advice. I merely stated that I could see the SP dropping, just like everyone else comments on the SP and when I got berated for that and told I didn’t know what I was doing then, I responded appropriately.
A bit of a heads up and just to reiterate check your facts before mouthing off, it isn’t a very good trait and say an awful lot about you!
Should give the airline shares a boost. Also fuel costs a lot lower.
