Ethernity Networks Releases ENET Wireless Backhaul Solution with Integrated Wireless Bonding - PR Newswire
10-May-2021 07:00:42
LOD, Israel, May 10, 2021
LOD, Israel, May 10, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Ethernity Networks (AIM: ENET.L), a leading supplier of data processing offload solutions on programmable hardware for accelerating telco/cloud networks, today announced it has released the ENET Wireless Backhaul solution, designed for standalone FPGA-based appliances. The solution combines up to 60Gbps of networking capacity with newly patented bonding technology for optimizing 4G and 5G network deployments.
The ENET Wireless Backhaul solution utilizes Ethernity's ENET Flow Processor FPGA firmware coupled with Ethernity's newly patented bonding technology to run on an FPGA appliance. The integrated bonding technology evenly distributes wireless traffic over multiple 1GbE and 10GbE ports. It offers the ability to support fragmentation, reassembly, and reordering of packets for differential delay compensation as a means to connect wireless radio equipment. The solution also ensures optimum wireless performance and improves transmitted throughput by dynamically distributing data along multiple wireless links of different speeds and technologies. This enables operators to overcome interruptions or slow wireless transmission due to inclement weather, as well as to increase maximum transmission distance.
ENET Wireless Backhaul is ideal for implementing within a 4G/5G Indoor or Outdoor Unit with complete Carrier Ethernet Switch/Router functionality and the embedded bonding feature.
The ENET Wireless Backhaul solution is currently available on Ethernity's standalone UEP-20 (Universal Edge Platform) with 10Gbps traffic spread over 10GbE and multiple 1GbE ports, as well as on commercial off-the-shelf servers using Ethernity's ACE-NIC FPGA SmartNICs. The solution will also run on the upcoming UEP-60 platform, which is targeted for release in Q3/2021, for bonding of 40Gbps traffic.
Oded Bergman, Ethernity VP of Products and Business Development, said, "By incorporating Ethernity's unique bonding solution for 1G and 10G links, together with our L2/L3/MPLS ENET Flow Processor, the ENET Wireless Backhaul solution provides unmatched all-weather wireless backhaul resiliency with the highest performance over different radio technologies."
Wireless backhaul from the Tarana tech and UEP-60 due for release in Q3.
R&D turned into commercial product to be turned into sales.
Wireless backhaul I guess would normally be used as redundant capacity in critical systems. However this tech is so advanced that it could be the whole connection as reliable as fibre.

EXCITING
Yes and shows how the needs are evolving. Ethernity are well ahead in Telecom and we can expect huge growth
52.2 sell and 53.14 are buys.
No they don't RNS new kit, just stick on on one of the Newswires and get some coverage in the Telco press usually.
What really is great about products like these flow processors is all the testing and trials are complete so almost immediate deployment. We can expect sales immediately from a product like UEP-60 because in China they will be at the start of mass deployment of 5G into the 800k 5G ready radios.
The 9346 buy was mine. I can smell blood now for Ethernity. The share price uptrend will accelerate into £1.
PEEL have a few at 54, they won't last long. Any volume today and we'll see +5%. These are growth days.
ARDA, PEEL and WINS all at 54p. I guess that they have a magic supply of shares.
This is not related to Tarana - yes they are 'wireless' but that is replacing fiber to the home i.e residential fixed wireless tech which is not in the realm of backhaul. This new Ethernity kit is the application of the new patent to an existing product (UEP) which produces a new potential application of their tech. Then there is the dangling carrot of even more applications once the next generation of the product is released
It showed as a sell because it was below the mid.
Bid yes exactly. It is nothing to do with the Tarana solution. The wireless backhaul does use the same principle to achieve reliability.
Marcel the blue and red means almost nothing
Think I’ve just shared it on Reddit but can’t be sure lol
In case anyone is confused by the Tarana product and the UEP-60. Ethernity don't make wireless products, these are flow processors that an OEM can use to integrate with their products.
Ethernity are handling the data in a way that allows efficient and reliable use on a wireless medium.
In the Tarana G1 Tarana used the Ethernity flow processor as part of their solution for last mile connection of broadband. That's nothing to do with wireless backhaul but the flow processor part is a similar function.
The 52.95 trades are buys. 52.1 to sell. Lots of buys in red today.
Looks like the MMs have some stock to churn. Certainly not from the market.
Yes it's fairly well offered according to the broker I just spoke to.. new kit announcements don't tend to generate much excitement but when they get sold and integrated into other platforms they do!
Picked up another 15,000 @ 53.6p.
Great posts all and some very interesting links.
I hadn’t watched the December interview of Brian by VSA Capital, thanks TL.
Thumbs up emoji.
I’ve read the announcement a few times and hold my hands up, in struggling a bit.
Could do with a plain English version! Although the likes of TL and Bid have helped, thank you.
Is this a new product for ENET or an older product that’s been ‘tweaked’ and the advantages of the new patent added?
Is this ‘core’ for ENET and/or another example of the wealth of tech that resides within the company.
What and who are the markets for the tech? Is it a few hundred $k here and there or another serious string to our bow?
Think ENET need to get some of the above over clearer, imo, otherwise non tech investors like myself might struggle to give today’s release the right level of attention.
I don’t know if it’s ok, good, brilliant and knocks the socks of the competition or a nice little tweak to what will be a minor product range. Is it a market of $1m a year or could be $100m?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
GLA
It's a totally new product and solves several problems that Telecom will face when deploying on every level.
It will sell well, this exact product is unique and extremely versatile.
It is for a now market and I suspect that there will be huge interest and noise.
Seems to me this is potentially yet another home run.
Thanks TL, I can understand that!
Sounds excellent then.
Do you think it was made to order or more something enet foresaw as the next step ?
