Voleon Capital yesterday increased their short by 0.1% to 1.41% - they are increasing to try and hold the line - but it clearly isn't working. When this blows it is going to be one serious short burning session - can't wait!
Must be getting a bit sweaty for them, being last one out could be very painful indeed. Bridgewater have blinked a little first, who is next?
Nah Mr Beaky, we're the elite investors who got in here at over £20 !!
Ah Trek, "Been saying for ages this is heading for £15!" too conservative don't you think ?!! skier1's post yesterday said it could go over £100 if there's bid interest !! And I've full confidence in our DEC forum Research Analyst !!
That’s another reduction in holding at profit…. Next target £12.87…. May take a while but getting much more comfortable
Hopefully GG is on his way to Switzerland (probably via Bridgewater Associates) to tell them they’re all brainless morons who have joined a cult of DEC supporters.
Someone needs to help them and he’s a champion of the gullible.
Also note the graph at the bottom showing institutional buying in 1Q24 taking the net inflows to $129m over 1Q + 4Q.
Obviously it won’t be as simple as that but it does show a change in sentiment that is reflected in the SP.
“ Separately, Zurcher Kantonalbank Zurich Cantonalbank acquired a new position in shares of Diversified Energy during the fourth quarter worth approximately $190,000. 26.51% of the stock is currently owned by hedge funds and other institutional investors.‘
Institutional buyers invest on their own metrics including outlook and geography amongst many other things.
What they tend not to do is not buy a stock because it’s been rising.
Those observers from the sidelines tend to be retail investors who think ‘oh it’s had a good run, it’ll come back to 10!’ And subsequently miss out or buy at the very top.
Been saying for ages this is heading for £15!
Usual caveats
Trek
DEC closed at $15.26USD / £11.99GBP on NYSE - poor GG can't face it - he's run away and gone in hiding! LoL
Uff Notrex, I think ski is saying we aren’t “elite” enough..
Great to see DEC surging and closing at its daily high (tonight) in New York trading. Yet another bullish sign. Expect a push for the 12s in London tomorrow. For the elite investors, who got in here at £8-10, DEC is now up an impressive +42% in 2 months. The list of positive tailwinds for this stock is getting longer and better by the day.
PP: 'A 'little' OTT!? That's like saying Diane Abbot is a 'little' bit thick!! LoL
Notrex, have you ever considered given that you also want the share price to rise, he is effectively on your side? I mean it's a little OTT but bless the lad, he's a tryer.
Skiramp is still knocking back the happy juice - however, I reckon he's now well past the point of diminishing returns regarding his OTT ramping - what we have here is a mindlessly repetitive and tedious BOT!! LoL
The upside potential for DEC has been incredible for a time yet here we are and the 4th most shorted stock although shorts down 0.2% recently. If I get back to break even including dividends I will think this is a good result, most my other stocks which on the whole are doing well, it is only DEC holding me back, in all I have a small profit but without DEC I would have a large one.
Also the upside potential for next Saturdays lottery ticket is incredible.
With US markets down across the board and Dec currently up 6.4%, that’s the sort of advertising you want!
There are ~£30m of shorts that may well need to close their positions here. Merger mania is gripping the oil-gas industry and driving stocks (much) higher. A new takeover or merger is happening every few weeks. Russell index trackers need / must buy into DEC stock thru July. The central bank of Switzerland, the world's most respected and prestigious central bank, has recently bought a big stake in DEC. The natural gas wholesale price has leapt a huge +50% in the past month. The average PE ratio of oil-gas stocks is 7, and for taken-over oil-gas stocks it is currently around 10. DEC today is at just 1. The upside potential is incredible.
Skier1, goodness well over £100 per share !! I'm ready .... !!
As merger mania sweeps the US gas-oil industry, we see firms being sold today at (very) strong multiples... For example, Chesapeake merged (with Southwestern Energy) at a PE ratio of 11 in Jan 2024... Marathon is being taken over (by Conoco) at a PE ratio of 12 in May 2024...
DEC looks set to join the high-profile US Russell 2000 index on Jul 1 2024. That is an ideal time for a merger or takeover partner to emerge. If DEC gets taken over at the same PE level as others (above), it puts the share price value here at well over £100.
DEC closed above its April high today. Reaching higher highs. A bullish sign.
Merger fever is now sweeping the oil and gas industry. Another bullish tailwind for DEC.
SNB taking a sizeable stake is huge news for DEC. The central bank of Switzerland is buying into DEC. Elite investors don't get much more elite than that.
A wave of positivity now sweeping DEC upward again. Wouldn't be a surprise to see this jump into the £12-13 range in the coming days 👍
Bridgewater Associates reduced their short yesterday by 0.13% to 0.86%.

Oh dear GG - your desperation is positively tangible - is that really the best you can do!!?!? PMSL
Yes, indeed, fantastic day for DEC. Puts it right back to where it was..oh no, wait a sec, it's actually HIGHER than it was at the end of...April. Another day like today will see DEC back to levels last seen in January. So, you LT losers must be close to break even now, right ? Right ? 🤣🤡
