Claire - the big fashion houses are all tied down by lease agreements on high street properties., and trying to develop an online says channel from next to nothing. The world you imagine is 5 years away at best. Even if a competitor can steal Boohoo's customers, but then that's the problem BOO don't have competition on the low cost on trend space on the market.
As a youth myself (20yo) I can assure you young people are not moving away
They love it - cheap stylish clothing what more do people the likes of students etc want?

And this brand is about to get stomped on by every major fashion companies globally to take back the lost revenue
Been in fashion business for 30 years, only thing i know, what major fashion companies, there dropping like flies due to the perfect storm of covid and switch to on line, Topshop, DP's, River, New Looks, Pea****s etc etc etc slow to adopt and adapt even Next is questioning if it needs as many stores and is slowly becoming an aggregator, Inditex got too many countries on it's mind and not bothered about anyone else jsut gets on with it, H&M, ok if you like Black and White, good prices and as more credible than most on sustainability but they do not understand the UK niche of Boo Hoo who are ticking all the boxes for their audience and will now try and reach out to other demographics. One thing i will say again is that Asos is still dominant power on line, the more Brands (altho scaled back a bit) the wider the appeal and there own brand in terms of size and volume knocks B/H into next week but it's being going since 2000 so not surprsing.
Guys and girls please also stay tuned very closely.
I will be visiting my local Tesco soon to buy a ham sandwich.
I will be conducting a full review live on here. And we can all make a decision to invest in Tesco stock based on my comments?
Who's keen to hear my ham sandwich review?
It's a market movers!
Potential candidate for a top 10 most funny post on here?
I'm assuming Claire was joking, hats off you your sense of humour we are all laughing with you :)
sales figures are historic and what has happened.
you buy shares to speculate on what will happen.
And this brand is about to get stomped on by every major fashion companies globally to take back the lost revenue.
high street fashion is war. and to be fair to BooHoo they have won lots of battles the past few years, but now they have become too big and like the roman empire will be overrun with hordes of established brands
@RishiSunak but stonks only go up!
I tend to trust my wife's boyfriend when it comes to things like this. I'll ask him.
My friends sisters friends neighbours uncles friends goldfish can see that doesn't make sense....
According to you/your friend... It's a model people no longer want.... BUT... are trying to mimic to cash in on its popularity?
I have a friend who runs a major investment bank.to word on the street is I plan to talk with him about Boohoo next time we meet.

So you're friends tell you there is a move to less volume but high quality but they then tell you that Topshop and the like are loading up the war chest with cheap clothing and influencers. Were you all drunk when you were discussing this or were they two different groups of friends.
I can categorically tell you this is utter B/S, i supply the this sector and whilst B/H is a bit narrow on demographic they totally recognise this hence the purchase of other Brands (they do need to do work on their Menswear tho). Primark are the leader in cheap fashion and their figures (when open !!!!) head only one way North!! B/H is massively driving this brand with influencers and it's working, forget sustainability it's way down the list.
Shock you’re interested in 7DIG, SYME and AMGO. Catch yourself back there.
Both paragraphs go against each other, are you a bot? At least something to cheer me up after a poor day for boo.
clairesmith- hahahah the last 12 quarters support your point Granny, quarter by quarter record revenue growth.. International growth superb (81% growth in the Us this H1). This model, as previously cited by another contributor, works anywhere in the Western world and the results reflect this year on year.
Who is BOO (the groups) biggest competitor? Asos? Most likely yes, 16-25 females don't have the brand obsession young males have or certainly a phase young males go through. BOO/PLT etc etc, provide cheap, fashionable clothing per occasion- it has completely changed the culture, people are now buying PER occasion. Why? As its so cheap. Asos you have scroll through 80-100 pages to find the clothing you desire, unless of course you filter of course (to brands..) but it is still a tedious and time consuming process. BOO on the other hand have a max of 8/10 pages and a 'new in' every day.
Asos while being the only real plausible competitor is the BOO group is actually very different. Asos is essentially a hub for a variety of different brands, margins are nowhere near as good and the price/s are not v competitive to BOO.
Next/H&M/River Island? Forget it, not in the same league.
Besides some sort of government intervention, boohoo is just going to pick up the high street brands on the cheap and move them online - that is blindingly obvious.
clairesmith - Boohoo own 9 Brands, Boohoo, BoohooMan, Prettylittlething, Nasty Gal, Miss Pap, Karen Millen, Coast, Oasis, Warehouse. Nasty Gal is a USA brand.
Boohoo are looking to buy more failing brands in Europe and USA. Boohoo are brilliant at buying failing brands out of administration and making them profitable within two years. Boohoo is the only great growth share in the UK market. Research, research, research is how you make big money on shares.
Claire, that’s the most stupid thing I’ve read on here this week. And I’m sure someone mentioned going sub 300... what is this drivel. If you’re short just say that, if you want to get in at a lower price just say that.
So you're friends tell you there is a move to less volume but high quality but they then tell you that Topshop and the like are loading up the war chest with cheap clothing and influencers. Were you all drunk when you were discussing this or were they two different groups of friends.
ha ha ha, Word is actually the opposite, but nice try nonetheless
PS And thank you for playing!!!!!!!!
it conceiveable Bricks and mortar retailers would try to reduce their losses this year by selling higher price point garments in a recession as consumer foot fall will be down significantly.
Meanwhile boo is in strong sales growth.
clairesmith - from the trading update yesterday:-
Strong revenue growth across all geographies and brands (UK: +37%; international: +55%, including US +83%). International now 47% of group revenue (2019: 44%)
Well my friends say the opposite, and the Sales figures say different too.
ha ha ha, Word is actually the opposite, but nice try nonetheless
clairesmith - that isn't reflected in the results from the trading update yesterday. Read in full and learn about how Boohoo has grown in the USA by 83%.
Was your friend talking about boohoo? Or Boohoo & Pretty Little Thing? Or Boohoo & Pretty Little Thing & Nasty Gal? Or Boohoo & Pretty Little Thing & Nasty Gal & Karen Millen? I could go on...
