A lot of blood on the carpet today from the shorters here.
GLA onwards and upwards
Hope, I’ve followed your logical posts. It is unfortunately lost on the masses.
Good luck,
Finlay
If does drop as some people hope I will be buying more.Dividend announced for year SP drops yield is higher .Revenue stream Profitable which I think many miss.Long term view which many missed ITC and CEO aim to return shareholder.I honestly think people need to read the RNS most was forecast nothing new which we did not know about Just review my earlier posts on ITC.
I agree with Craigb and a near 10% yield. You can`t expect double digit growth on top of that yield.
I like the debt reduction, which should lead to extra returns in the future? Still a 10% divi.
I hold for the divi.
Not bad at all. The bad news we knew about. New categories showing a profit & future tail winds to come.
However I'm here just for the divi - a 2% increase just doesn't cut it for me - that's a significant real-terms cut. The progressive dividend turned out to be regressive. Don't think that will go down well.
Generating cash hand over fist & reducing the debt.
Not that bad, writeoff we knew about, increase in Divi, Organic growth and non combustibles in profit.
Badly as usual. Not sure how this is going to get back to £30. When rates are cut?
Doesn’t look good. Will be interest to see how market reacts.
Well let’s see what tomorrows results bring, could be another colossal dump in the share price.
And yield is close to 10%. I'm tempted to jump back in now
Hmm seems no-one wants to be anywhere near this stock...I smell a bargain here!!
Double bottom was reached 25th Jan @2292.....upward curve and still rising, what's not to like👍🥳
The two tobacco companies , BATS and Philip Morris, have made a settlement, regarding vape, patents. The settlement, means, no further dispute on the issue of vape patents . BATS, sp, was up on the news.
Interesting Hargreaves Lansdown 6 December 2023 (Correction) and that is outdated information now. Volatility is a term used when the market is uncertain today RNS suggests otherwise. Also, H/L did not consider the British American Tobacco Portfolio (ITC etc). The Impairment is over 30 years of the market value at this time BATS decided to add the impairment.
With comments " HL say weakness means still work to be done expect volatility" Green Box
With British American Tobacco research plenty of material out there.

Bit of a newbie here, is this worth investing? I see the SP is pretty much at an all time low, so could be a good time to dive in?
The volume of shares traded 15/12/23, was 21.2 million, on a down bar, for that day. The high price on 15/12/23, was 2343.5, and today low, so far has been 2344, just above the 15/12/23 heavy volume price bar. The sp, made a pivot high of 2361, the day before, 14/12/23, the heavy volume down bar. Sp, today so far has briefly rose above the pivot high, but requires to close above 2361, to confirm upward trajectory.
I normally buy my cigs in cartons as in ten packs at a time and noted they’ve gone up from £13.70 to over £14 a pack in the last few weeks, did I hesitate to buy,no because it’s like a pint or a gallon of fuel,we just pay it.
Therefore I suggest tobacco is a captive market plus all the news about banning disposable/flavoured whatever vapes suggests to me the NGP’s with the big two here are quite happy to see some competitors stand aside or lose out to the majors and thereby keeping the entry levels to the business high.
Still adding under 25 on income longterm, short term doesn’t interest me but good luck to the traders here.
BATS has a lift today from the fall in gilt yields, looking for it to break and hold 2390-2400 area, then dare I say it we might be out of the woods.
Tobacco sector is second highest positive %, sector rider today , after top riser fossil fuels. Tobacco sector chart sp, has broke above resistance at 27000. There is a falling trendline, at 27600 which requires to be overcome, before further upside progress . BATS, requires to get above resistance at 2372, but the tobacco sector chart provides some confidence , that it may do so soon. DYOR.
Dent is supposed to be DEBT. Typo mistake.
Interesting to read people's views on how a stock performs and forward-looking. I think no one pays attention to anything these days and is obsessed with daily shifts, ignoring the fundamentals of a company, and in some cases ESG thinking which damages stocks.
Let's take Broker's views on ESG seem ingrained in their thinking. British American Tabacco year on year has paid a dividend for over 25 years and in the medium will continue to. The company is classed as a defensive stock if there is a downturn in the economy. The revenue stream much of the time is constant. Its Portfolio is wide and holds growth (ITC for instance alone pays a large dividend yearly, and its value has increased Bats owns 29% think on that).
The 31 Analysis Covers ITC India 460 to 580 up to 2025. Market Cap is around £68 Billion, Bats owns 29% presently is worth 20.6 Billion. If it increased as Forecasts suggest that would be increased to 30 Billion. Remember Bats Portfolio, please. If sold BATS CASH Reserve would be 25 Billion presently.ITC was founded in 1910 by BATS with American Company. Presently ITC is looking to float part of the company which 17% of BATS will own and sell raising capital or offload the whole 29% they still waiting on their inner study coming 12 months. You can see BATS with no dent come a few years with a constant revenue stream draw your conclusions.
I write occasionally on my dividend Stocks I hold and I look in now and again. I read the comments and think what do these people know? Most of the time they like to scare people with charts, and news articles on class actions, legislation changes, impairment, etc.
I have mentioned some of the above before but people forget. Remember the boards are for discussion on a company. Just do the basic trading updates, revenue outlook, Dividend covered, debt coming down, Bats Portfolio growth, new markets, new products, etc. With that all in mind do the research and think medium to long term.
Happy Investing.
You see a 35% drop in the SP happening within two weeks? To take us back to levels not seen since late 2006?
That would require an extraordinary update!
Even if we see a black swan event in the next two weeks, no way is this going to drop even 30% on such a market sell off!
This is clearly still range bound right now (within a 2% or so range). So it might have a sell signal to take it back to the lower end of the current range right now, but beyond that, I disagree. GLA.
