The point is, Ibjj...the way I look at it....."The whole story was captured on film".
What a surprise. A rambling post all about.......yourself.
A brilliant BEM theme tune. When my number two daughter was in infant school she loved that film and especially that song. She also loved what she called the Dorothy song from the Wizard of Oz. She persuaded me dozens times to watch the film with her. The bit when the blue monkeys attacked Dorothy always scared her and she used to dig her chin into my shoulder as that made her feel safe.. When she got married and I was waiting to walk her in for the service she was really nervous and shaky. The photographer took some pictures whilst we were waiting. When we received the pictures I got a pleasant surprise. She had dug her chin into my shoulder just as she did when she was a nervous infant. I guess some things never change.
Thanks. That's a very helpful analogy.
I am equally surprised you still post on here as you have discredited yourself completely with your persistent fabrications. I dont need a mantra. The Swedish government have never made a secret of their steadfast refusal to make a decision. I am merely reflecting their determination honestly, rather than believing they will suddenly have a damascean moment and change tack. They wont. The fact that many refuse to see that, I find endlessly fascinating. It reminds me of the true story of an American news cameraman sent to document the Vietnam war on the front line. One day, he spotted a sniper just 25 yards away, and, true to his profession, started the camera rolling. The sniper spotted him, took a few steps towards him, raised his rifle and shot the cameraman dead. The whole incident was captured on film. The point being, he had disconnected from reality and refused to see what was really happening in front of his eyes.
all my investments decisions are based on this song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yop62wQH498
I don't see lbjj's posts but I'm assuming that your comments and granite's relate to him and his attitude to BEM. If that is so and he's still banging on with his mantra "can't say yes, won't say no" (or words to that effect) he should consider the statement from Forbes magazine that I always keep in mind with regard to share dealing. "Past performance is not indicative of future results" We might get the long awaited permit tomorrow or it could be months. The truth is that we don't know. I will continue waiting patiently.
Ibjj...You keep saying that........why are you so bothered and who are you trying to convince. You're wasting your time, we're all on ironbrew.
The facts and 5 years of consistent evidence is what convinces me. Last week I looked back at my posts from the back end of 2013, I was expressing grave doubts about the process then, and the same people were shouting me down, plus a few others, who have either died of old age or moved on to more lucrative territory. Four and a half years later, no decision, or sign of a decision, and the same people are talking about positive signs. FFS.
...someone is trying a little too hard to convince himself on this one...... It's not too late - bargain prices to be had......
I knew you would be the first to respond. We are all on drugs here. Its happy clappy time
Well, if thats not a cast iron guarantee of a positive decision in the next day or two, I dont know what is? Are you on drugs? You are a fantasist. Look at the evidence. No decision after 5 years. No commitment to the process. No statement of intent to make a decision. No timescale ever agreed. Wake the feck up.
Within 24 hours of the previous deadline dates: 30 Nov, 2 Jan, 5 March, there was a Government announcement regarding extended consultation periods. Not this time, it seems. So excited my limbs are a tremelo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n03g8nsaBro
Thanks for the response, especially the 'young man' bit. As my current age is 74 that's put a large smile on my face. The biblical sell-by date is three score years and ten so I'm enjoying living happily on bonus time. ;o)
Whilst not being a Swedish speaker so not really knowledgably about what has been submitted by whom. It is clear from the bits of the translated documents I've seen is that the Salmi haven't submitted any evidence about any major determent THIS mine will cause to their villages/settlements or animals. It seems clear to me that the Swedish government has a simple choice back the mine and give jobs to the locals and money to the local economy or else condemn the region to its current decline - population loss (young people leaving), economic stagnation and poverty (well relative to rest of the affluent country) and back a group that live on the margin and have no intention of joining the 21st Century. At the international level if the mine does not get clearance who will every believe Sweden is a place to do business or is a place to invest?
Morning young man. I dont know ed. I had forgotten about that. I think it was January, that the change was to take place. atb
Thanks for the excellent posts, nice to see a bit of positivity. Do you know if the new CAB gaffer is in place or is it still the old one whose on the Sami's side atb.
5 years and a chronology of false deadlines leading nowhere confirms my view as incontrovertible fact. You are quite right. No point debating it.
I agree with you Goog, not sure why you bother debating it with the broken record, stating his opinion as fact again, it's tedious in the extreme.
Morning. Subtle thank you! Googlebot I think you may be very well right. If the current administration, doesnt want to deal with both, Kurt Budges alleged failings of some, during this process, and make a decision on N Kallak, then they will deserve all of the criticism, which is likely to come their way. In my opinion only. atb
" agreed process " Well the government trashed that yonks ago...
The belief in a quick decision is just wishful thinking. Look at the evidence. The government's 5 year, consistent modus operandi is to continually kick the can down a never ending road.
The agreed process is that if MI and CAB can't agree it goes to Govt. That is what has happened (although we were here before prior to Norra Carr). The Govt have now consulted everybody and have all the input necessary for a decision. Damberg has stated the process needs speeding up, he would look a bit foolish if this got delayed again. The only question mark as far as I am concerned is the election. For political reasons only I can see them delaying it till after. Others will point out that that it will be to their advantage to make the decision before but I am not so sure.
Where is the evidence for a quick decision? The government have never agreed any deadline or timescale for a decision. They have wasted 5 whole years and have revelled in the toing and froing of parochial tittle tattle. No chance.
Disagree, there is a chance we will get a decision within weeks. Even if the Sami get another chance to comment that's positive in my eyes because the Govt wouldn't bother if it was going to be a 'no' and they have nothing more to add. Has to happen in the next 8 weeks imo otherwise we are looking at the end of the year.
