It’s time for investors to mine for profits in gold - Mining stocks have missed out on the long-term bull market in the yellow metal. A long-overdue upswing may now be starting, says Dominic Frisby. Here are his top picks in the sector

Being hedged both ways means no position ...:-)
Relax this won’t fly without its wings (RNS)
Hesitated for a few days but now some real volume going through, maybe 36p+ close?
What cavalry are you referring to rangerwillow? I’ve heard YWWTBOOTOTW, more times than I’ve had hot dinners!
Looks like a few agree Simms. Here comes the cavalry....
Broom so perhaps just selling a some is a good compromise. Hedged both ways unless one is deep under water.
Personally would not want to be out over a bank holiday weekend. Hoping for news tuesday maybe? Lets see if Calibre or the Chinese strike it rich and win the prize.
Can fully understand the temptation to sell, however I suffer from ‘Sod’s Law syndrome’, I sell it goes up… so I’ll hang in for a bit yet
Unless you guys want to open a ‘go fund me’ page and I sell ha ha
I'll be sticking around for the 45p party thanks as per Mr Frisbys latest missive...
Thank you for your wishes of good luck
To anyone selling, good luck… you’ve bigger cahooners than me.
To all those holding strong, good luck we know the end is in sight and sure we will get fair value and. If patience is a virtue, we must surely be the most virtuous of them all!
To all those joining or topping up, good luck… you’ll have no doubt done your due diligence and will see that there’s value a plenty in our golden bird!
Wouldn’t want to be out of this over the weekend and next week! 🤪💪🏻💪🏻💰💰💰
You've been 'Onioned'!
I’ve sold a few, can’t hang in there on no news is good news hopes. No updates is no progress. Good luck to everyone
Any price sensitive info should be released pronto so the update could well be another progress is taking longer two parties yada yada. However we should be encouraged that mc apparently has moved to a tax haven ! Does anybody have a clue what his current sale incentive looks like?
As far as we know we have an asset sale, if it were to convert to a takeover I assume the takeover commission need to be involved which in turn I would imagine should be rns as with any loi etc.

Enjoying the endless speculation which is inevitable at this stage. Think if we try to keep it civil though, I realise people are getting edgy but hurling insults will not help
Yep, also fair point. Risk or no risk, it's a money-maker for sure. Gold companies have to operate where the gold is, and frequently that's in questionable parts of the world. Tolerating some risk could make you rich! lol (fingers crossed!)
Calibre does have US production and is developing their Canadian mine. But remember it is the Nicaraguan cash cow that has paid for the North American assets. Calibre taking on CNR would make it an even bigger cash cow very quickly. They will get their money back very quickly making it very low risk. There are many much more risky parts of the world than Nicaragua and with gold its number 1source of income I don’t think they will want to risk that by upsetting the mining companies currently operating there.
Interesting thought. It has occurred to me previously that someone - possibly Rio Tinto in the past, as they used to have some farm-in arrangement with Calibre, but now more likely Chinese - could corner the entire Nic gold exploration and exploitation market and wrap it up into one nice neat parcel. It's possible that is what Calibre is seeking to do, and then sell off that parcel to the Chinese, leaving Calibre to concentrate on more 'established' jurisdictions. Make sense to me anyway.
I own some Calibre which has top experienced Mgt that executes extremely well and have built and sold several mining companies for big profits. They also have producing properties in Nevada and also another large potential property in Washington State. They may want to spend that cash on something much safer in the States, particularly Nevada. They dropped big like the rest of Nicaragua mining in Nov of 2022 when the Biden sanctions on the Nicaragua mining chief proved a false alarm. Their share price is up as their production is substantially up as well as the price of gold. Nicaragua is a very high-risk country for anyone but the Chinese. If Calibre were to buy Condor, I would think it would be to fairly quickly add production and based on Mgt's history I would not be surprised to see them sell out to the Chinese in the not-too-distant future.
If anything material had changed Condor would update the market so its pretty obvious he cannot speak to anyone just in case he says more than he should. The very fact his responses are technical says everything. Looking forward to seeing the stock make a hefty rise on annoucment of sale on or before results. I suspect very very very soon.
Thanks, can't say I'm surprised MC would update a reasonable shareholder request but not respond and actually block someone who spends many hours questioning his character and throwing playground insults.. who'd have thunk it...
Just to change the rather pointless moaning that is pervading this board. It was interesting to note that when gold stocks recovered in the US and Canada yesterday the outstanding performer was Calibre Up 6.19%. It is now over 2 weeks since Calibre secured it new C$115 million facility and it has not announced what it is going to do with it.
There are comments about CNR on Calibre bb’s:
“ ago
Is CXB.TO going for Condor Gold(COG.TO)?
Condor shares are up for no reason i.e. no news at all.
Both have gold properties in Nicaragua...”
Calibre buying CNR has always seemed the most compelling deal as they are next door to each other with obvious economies of scale.
I emailed MC a couple of weeks ago re. progress on the sale, & got a reply within minutes:-
He plans to update the market at the same time as the release of the FY 2023 results, if not before.
Agree it's certainly one or the other.
One would sincerely hope that it's the former - especially after the insane timeline we've been subject to.
