Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Declares
Year-End Cash Dividend for FY2015
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC") announced today that its Board of Directors at their meeting on January 28, 2016 authorized the cash dividend plan, payable to the shareholders of record at the close of business on December 31, 2015 as follows:
1. Dividend per Share (Dividend Yield)
- Common Shares: KRW 20,000 (1.56%)
- Preferred Shares: KRW 20,050 (1.85%)
※ Dividend yield is calculated by dividing dividend per share by the average stock price for the week prior to
two days before the record date based on KRX guideline.
※ For 2015, the total cash dividend payable for each common shares is KRW 21,000 per share
and KRW 21,050 per share for each preferred shares, which includes the interim dividend of
KRW 1,000 per share paid on August 28, 2015 with respect to both common shares and
preferred shares.
2. Total Amount Appropriated for Year-End Cash Dividend: KRW 2,919.82 billion
※ Total Dividend Payout Amount for 2015 : KRW 3,068.74 billion
(including KRW 148.92 billion the amount paid as interim dividend on August 28, 2015)
3. Record Date: December 31, 2015
※ Dividend payments will be made to only those shareholders who are shareholders of record at the close of
business on record date, as listed on the shareholders' registry on the record date.
※ Dividend payments will be made within 30 days of the date that is the date of the Annual
General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM"), and such dividend payment and the payment
amounts will be subject to approval and ratification by a vote of the shareholders at the AGM.
