Appointment of Executive Director

NewRiver Retail Limited (AIM and CISX: NRR), the UK REIT specialising in value-creating retail property investment and asset management, is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Miller, 48, as an Executive Director with effect from 1 April 2012.

Mr Miller will join the Board as Development Director and will help to drive forward the Company's asset management and risk controlled development activities. Mr Miller, a qualified chartered surveyor, has over 25 years of retail property experience and joins the Company from Jones Lang LaSalle, the global real estate consultancy, where he was Director and Head of Development of the retail property team. He is an acknowledged expert in city and town centre regeneration schemes with retail development at their core, both in the UK and internationally. Mr Miller currently sits on the advisory board of the British Council of Shopping Centres and chairs the Urban Regeneration Committee.

He has previously provided development consultancy and leasing advice to NewRiver on a number of projects including the Martlets shopping centre in Burgess Hill.

Prior to Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr Miller spent 17 years at property consultant King Sturge, where he became Head of Retail and an equity partner. He began his career at chartered surveyors, Herring Baker Harris where he worked for 10 years progressing to retail director before moving to King Sturge. During his career Mr Miller has advised and acted for a wide range of local authorities, development and property companies, retailer and institutions, advising on procurement, development and leasing strategies.
