PRE-CLOSE STATEMENT

YEAR ENDING 30 SEPTEMBER 2008

Diploma PLC, the international group of specialised distribution businesses, is today issuing a Pre-Close Statement, ahead of entering into close period for the Company for the year ending 30 September 2008.

The trading conditions in each of the Group's business sectors remain consistent with that set out in the second Interim Management Statement issued on 5 August 2008. Accordingly the Board remains confident that the Group will meet market expectations for the full year. 

It is expected that the Preliminary Results for the year ended 30 September 2008 will be announced on Monday, 17 November 2008. There will be an analyst presentation of the results at the offices of Bankside Consultants Limited, 1 Frederick's Place, London, EC2R 8AE, at 9.00 am on that day.
