Trading Update

CAP-XX is pleased to announce that the current half year has started strongly, with total revenue for the months of January and February more than double that of the corresponding months of 2010. This represents a 122% increase on the average monthly level of sales achieved in the half year to December 31st. This sales increase is spread between end market customers in portable devices, solid state drives and energy harvesting and reflects an increase in production capacity at our Malaysia contract manufacturers.

We are also pleased to confirm that SONY has launched in Japan the HDR-PJ30V and HDR-PJ40V range of digital HD camcorders, which have incorporated the Murata supercapacitor into their twin LED camera flash. (http://www.sony.jp/handycam/products/HDR-PJ40V)

Separately, we have received confirmation from Murata that royalty payments under our manufacturing partnership will commence this month. The March payment is in respect of a small amount of product shipped in December 2010 from its recently commissioned manufacturing lines at Yusa, Japan and represents an important milestone in CAP-XX's relationship with Murata. Royalty payments are expected to build throughout the remainder of the financial year, in line with production volumes.

Development of surface mount supercapacitor devices (SMDs) and hybrid supercapacitors continue to progress well.

The board remains confident of a successful outcome for the current year, in line with market expectations.

Notes to Editors:

CAP-XX is a world leader in the design and manufacture of thin form supercapacitors and energy management systems, predominantly for portable electronic devices.

The unique feature of CAP-XX's supercapacitors is their ability to store high volumes of energy and output high power levels within a thin form design. These attributes will be critical for the next generation of high volume, power-hungry portable electronic devices, including mobile phones.

Portable devices are one of the fastest growing segments of the electronics market and provide the greatest opportunities for CAP-XX's products. CAP-XX's products are already an established enabling technology for the current generation of wireless devices and portable devices.
