Senior Sales Leadership Appointment and Customer Wins

Corero Network Security plc (AIM: CNS), the network security and business software provider, is pleased to announce the strengthening of its worldwide sales team through the appointment of David Ahee as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales of the Corero Network Security (CNS) division.

Separately, Corero is pleased to announce that CNS has secured a number of important customers in 2013 and enters the second quarter with a growing pipeline of o\pportunities.

Appointment of David Ahee

David Ahee has been appointed, after an extensive search led by an international agency, as Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales to drive the growth of CNS' First Line of Defense offering to the global market. He brings 20 years of experience in global and regional sales management, establishing enterprise and channel sales strategies in the US, Europe and Asia. David joins CNS from Procera Networks (NASDAQ:PKT), a manufacturer of traffic management platforms for service providers and enterprises, where he ran the Americas sales organisation. Prior to Procera, he held senior sales roles with Aylus Networks, ThinkEngine Networks, Ascend Communications and Newbridge Networks.

Customer Wins

CNS customer contract wins in 2013 include: a US energy utility, a leading MSP (mobile service provider) in Brazil, a large regional US bank (including a SecureWatchPlus services contract), an Asian based provider of on-line games, an Internet Domain Services company, a leading price comparison web site and Camelot (the UK Lottery operator).

CNS remains confident as it enters the second quarter of the financial year as the market in which CNS operates continues to demonstrate strong growth prospects.

The IT research group IDC, in a recently published report, forecast that the worldwide market for Distributed Denial of Service ("DDoS") prevention solutions (including products and services) will grow by a compound annual growth rate of 18.2% from 2012 through 2017 and reach $870 million. The report supports CNS' view of the market opportunity, in particular, that, despite volumetric-based attacks remaining most popular, more advanced hybrid attacks that include application layer and encrypted traffic will continue to grow. This will drive the on-premise equipment market throughout the forecast period.
