Associated British Foods plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce that Kumsal Bayazit is to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 December 2023.
Kumsal is Chief Executive Officer of Elsevier, having joined from Elsevier's parent company, RELX PLC, in 2019. Since 2004, Kumsal has held multiple management positions, including as Chief Strategy Officer at RELX and, until 2023, as Chair of the RELX Technology Forum, responsible for technology, risk management and cyber security strategy across the RELX Group. Prior to joining RELX, Kumsal spent several years at Bain & Company in its New York, Los Angeles, Johannesburg and Sydney offices. Kumsal also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Preqin.
Kumsal was a Non-Executive Director of LSL Property Services plc from September 2015 to April 2019.
Kumsal will become a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees on appointment.
The Company confirms that there are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules in respect of the new director.
