RICH3R - only last week people on here and elsewhere were saying putin would never invade! He is not the normal tactician. He genuinely believes what he is saying.
Only last week he advertised to the world that he was 'exercising' his tactical nuclear hardware plans. NATO troops on the ground would be (a) short term and (b) suicidal. Putin would resort initially to battlefield nukes (shells and cruise missiles) and if that didn't stave off NATO aggression he would have no qualms but to press the big red startegic button:

But as long as solg shareholders can make money, that's all that counts, I suppose.
We all need to quietly pray (if you are religiously inclined) and hope that peace will eventually break out in The Ukraine.

There is a very good reason for reducing troops in the UK. If they could, the government would slash more but their NATO committment requires a specific force level to be maintained.
Gone are the days where conventional war is "de rigeur", atleast in the west. We have NATO if we need troops on the ground, to quell some tinpot country like Afghanistan et al.
When it comes to major wars, the focus is on assymetric and hybrid warfare (a little bit of what Putin is doing now).
From a UK perspective, the bigger budgets are pouring into cyber / GCHQ. The future is intelligence not blunt force. The UK nuclear deterrent relies solely on their ability to deliver a strategic strike from one of their four nuke subs. Each sub carries 8 SLBM's each missile blisters into 5 warheads and each warhead is 8 x that of hiroshima. So one sub can destroy atleast 40 cities.
This is our backstop and the ONLY reason GB isn't threatened by the likes of Putin.
Soldiers on the ground went out with the arc.
Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) has kept the peace for decades. Could this Ukraine scenarion revise that?

This isn’t history repeating itself. History talks about conventional conflict. We are in a nuclear age. One 175mm nuclear tipped shell will wipe a large town out. A nuclear tipped cruise missile will wipe a city out.
Last week putin was exercising his tactical nuclear battle plans.
If NATO sends In troops and hardware to Ukraine and putin loses his advantage, he will go tactical, make no bones about it. What does NATO do then?
I think we all know the answer to that.
My hope is that the Ukraine government will stand down and putting cronies will take over and stabilise the region in favour of Russia. This is the least best solution now.
I for one can’t continue talking about a late MRE or calling 5% of Havieron when all of this is going on.
So I will switch off for a while and think of other more pressing issues.

The second biggest nuclear military power in the world has declared war on a sovereign nation.
Putin has threatened all outsiders NOT to interfere.
If NATO mishandles this and reacts strategically then all the wealth in the world will not stop you, your child, your mother, your friends from being annihilated in the aftermath.
Instead of quoting the PoG every 15 minutes on here, why don’t you stop to think about your true values in life which surely are your loved ones.
Just pause for a moment and quietly hope that both sides will calm down and see sense.
The world will never be the same again.

Your bad times on AiM will not be reflected here on this bb because there are a hardcore of conscientious posters who are determined NOT to see it go the way other boards have gone. Not what SD thinks:
In his Poractive forum recently he stated:
"...He said that FMV discussions are ongoing and he believes that the MRE 2 is critical to understanding the value of Hav ...."

and went onto say:
"...from a GGP POV he feels that the MRE is essential in discussing the 5% and hinted they would push for that as due to the quality of the results and the fact they cover 10-12 months of exploration, he considers them as a material update that should be released to market and that we should be confident it will happen. ..."

So, as most of us on here have alluded to, the MRE2 results are critical because they draw a line in the sand for any arbitor to assess. The results of the MRE2 are fact not future assumptions.

Afternoon Mushroom - do you honestly think a junior partner would usurp NCM's responsibilities? That would do SD absolutely no favours whatsoever going fwd.
Let's 'assume' SB genuinely wants more results under his belt before committing to a MRE(2). Lots of drilling ongoing currently....when does one draw the line and say.........publish the results? Could be July end of drilling and end of august results perhaps?

I have tweaked the roadmap based on recent events. IMO, it is not over until the 'dimensionally challenged' lady sings. And so the MRE2 stays as: Q1/22 until expiry.

I see the junior mining market place is subdued across the board currently due to Ukraine. I expect the SP to dip markedly until the dust settles.

All in all, remember the bike pump analogy as we move forward (18th Feb post @1536).

MFU - I think when you look at why there is a need for a DFS and as importantly, what it must consist of to comply with the regs, there are no short cuts, which is why they cost serious 'dosh' to complete. (I believe, you like me are in Solg (god help us!) and the quote for their DFS is $1.3mUS).
So fiddling the books to bypass GGP is unlikely.
