Can anyone help me with a maths problem ? 23M households in the UK, a governement mandate to fit smart meters within 10 years equals 2.3M meters per year for next 10 years (although this will be phased but lets keep it simple for now !) I am now missing three crucial pieces of data 1.Number of meters per household; 2. liklley lifespan of a meter; 3. taking into account economies of scale what is the worst, likley best case scneario for a profit per meter if BGBL improve on their current profitablity ? Just wondering at what target sell price to put this share....

M&s are driving 12wk growth js are in decline. Apologies for error.

Less relevant to uniq but in response to an earlier post latest quiche Market data shows 3pct decline latest 52 wk; 6pct growth latest 12 wkd. Long term it is in decline due to a lack of marketing investment,brands,relevant npd. Quiche sales in m&s and js are driving the 12wk growth.

1. Waitrose are pushing picnics this year they like pret have written a book on picnics which they are selling in store. I have seen some recent tns data which shows the number of alfresco meal occasions are in growth for latest mat.which will be driven by hotter weather and an increase in the number of people taking holidays in the uk. 2. Of more significance is the decline in pre packed sandwiches and now wraps.this is against a backdrop of the number of lunchbox meal occasions growing (again tns data). Two things are happening more people are making sandwiches at home rather than buying pre packed,secondly the sandwich is facing increasing competitive pressure from sushi,hot food to go,wraps etc

Ok I don't get it; what is so attractive with this share ? I have looked at the fundamentals and see nothing outsrtanding the s.p seems a fair reflection of the estimated earnings. Ready meal sales are in decline in the UK; the sandwich industry is highly compeititive with the likes of greencore operating of low cost bases and branded sandwiches like Samworths Ginsters brand coming into the Impule market. Desserts & Sauces dips etc admitedly I don't know much about. Salads are profitable business particualry the pre packed mixed bags; I have some data on the salad marke..does anyone know which supermarkets they supply ? would be intersting to check latest retail sales. I would also be intersting in understanding the split of the business between these categories.

I bought this weeks paper on my way home tonight and it has a follow up article; again it confirms last weeks headline story that Fenland Food factory is to come out of its 'moth ball' and discussses the implication for the local community. Again it doesn't state when the factory will re open, or what it will be producing. Not very helpful. I have asked some of my industry contacts to find out what the stiuation is and will update you when I hear any more.

live near the Fenland Foods Grantham factory and the headline on the local paper (Grantham Journal) last week talked about Fenland re opening within the next few months..sorry I don't have the details about whether they plan to re open to supply M&S or ready meals, I have checked their web site but cannot find the article. http://www.granthamjournal.co.uk/ If its of interest you may want to give them a call.

Sundancer, looking at the share disposal info on the link Barclays have c.15% share of BGBL and Blackrock c.5% share, both are major share holders in BGBL with a combined stake of c.20%. June 1: Increased holding by 18k shares; from 11,103,194 to 11,121,846 June 6: Decreased holding by 14k shares back to 11,098,053 As you say hardly seems worth the effort to sell 14k share particular though if you bought 18k five days early; net result buy 4k shares. ....Maybe they are desperate for the cash after their middle eastern investors pulled out this week :~)

Maverick & Sundancer I have also been watching the sells every day and zero buys and noting no impact on the share price, whilst these are relativley small volumes they should have accumulated to move the s.p down by now. Explanation: ...... Whilst waiting for some postiivie news (any news) I have been studying the power of positive thinking and have applied this to this BGBL which I like to think might go some way to explain why it has retained it's current level for the week despite the sells....tonight I am stepping up my targets and setting a target of 20p for tommorows close......lets see what happens. If we end with 0% change (again) I will cast aside the books on quantum mechanics and self improvement and start lobbying for green initiatives next week. GLA

It's gone very quiet on this board....the s.p is at a 52 week low...hardly any volume for the last week...good time to top up I think ....unlikley to be any bad news around the corner...just a slow burner...lucky I have lots of patience. Good night all. ...Anyone there ?

Thanks ! - the results were not released until Tuesday, so the markets wouldn't have reacted earlier. I heard a rumour through an industery contact that these might be good based on cricumsantial evidence! turned out to be a good call. Did you get in early and make a bit ?

This company is high risk, lots of debt and makinga product which has yet to prove its potential. High potential ?; definetley. Already jumpy investors though are going to head for safer companies. I however share your view Nielj this is a good long term high risk but high reward investment and i'm staying in, this could easily jump to 25p or 30p in the near future. Just suprised at the lack of daily activity , we need some good news...contracts or govt policy. Anyone have any views on when this might be likley ?

I am thinking of buying Monday AM, anyone have a view on the results due to be posted this week ? I am hearing a bit of positive noise.....but don't know enough about the company, and would welocme some advice.

I shorted these on monday and today my stop tripped out at 905, i was expecting a drop of 100 pts. After the announcements in the US today I am seriously out of pocket, am considering taking a new short position because I believe these are over sold, does anyone have a view ?
