Just how much power does BMW require? 10 MW peak power? Its sobering to realise how much power industrial plants consume and its not easy to substitute conventional sources of electricity with renewables

Foreign investment is supposed to bring in jobs as well as tax revenue . If ZEN fires a lot of people this could get political i.e: do lots Azeris have to lose their jobs so that foreign investors get rich. May not make sense cause foreign investors could also lose their shirts but politics is emotional at times

My guess is they cant fire a lot of people. In some places you cant just hire and hire production staff. Dont know what they do all day since a lot of the routine work has been automated - ESP monitoring etc. Their wages probably aren't that much - we went through this some time back .

The A100 rig probably has no obvious usage - its all deep wells

it sounds like you are lecturing them . What they should do from a NGO/ Think Tank perspective is different from what might happen. Well it could happen but it might be Chinese owned. Whats the source of PV panels in Africa - its mostly China that has made those big projects in Africa and India possible. Just my opinion. Anyway I shall say no more ….
