If a random post on X was responsible for the 12% rise imagine what an official RNS from the company announcing news of a potential deal would do to the shareprice.

They're not privy to any information. WG employees who are working in the same building as the BoD have no idea what's going on so I doubt the shorts do.

No rise in shorts yesterday. Hopefully we see a decrease tomorrow.

I can't see 90p being accepted. Probably just false rumours. Especially if that's Sidaras opening bid.

The RNS on Monday implied that talks had been ongoing with Sidara for a few days prior to the FT story. If that's the case then we could hear something next week about what direction the takeover (or not) is taking.

I'm in the dark as much as everyone else except I have family members who work for WG and my previous few posts are based on what they have told me.

Someone else mentioned a 40p bid earlier today!!

Sidara seem to want to conclude business this time especially as they believe they will get a significant discount to the price that was being mooted 6 months ago however, they're also realistic. If the BoD felt a price of £2 plus wasn't enough 6 months ago they're not going to accept anything sub £1 today irrespective of what the share price is doing.

Interesting to see what happens.

Acotyy, all I know is that there are individuals very high up in WG who bought a large number of shares on the possibility of the takeover and who are none the wiser 3 days later about what is being discussed or what will be announced.

Absolute nonsense. Senior managers who have been with WG for years haven't the foggiest regarding what's happening and are in the dark about the direction of the negotiations as much as PIs. Stop spreading nonsense.

According to sources with knowledge of the talks Sidara are keen to move quickly to retain employees angered by the lack of bonuses and with the plight of the company.

WG have confirmed that they have received an approach from Sidara for the ENTIRE company however there is no guarantee an offer will be made.

The collapse in its share price has made an equity raise extremely challenging.

Wood was looking at selling parts of the business but it's preference was to sell the entire company putting Sidara in pole position.

Profit Jock, it's anyone's guess but it will be significantly less than the price 6 months ago. I don't think anyone disputes that. However, it won't be as low as some of the shorts on here are suggesting like 60p.

And now they're back so what does that tell you?

It hasnt even been 3 days since the press release from WG and already people are getting impatient. Reading far too much in to the statement announcing the interim CFO. WG don't need to send hidden messages in RNS' to Sidara to increase their bid price. They're in discussions with them as we speak and anything they need to tell them will be told face to face. Be patient. If a bid comes anyone buying at these prices will make money.
