I think that's exactly what has happened. Even very senior guys at the company are completely in the dark about the direction of the negotiations. I agree with a previous poster, the longer we don't hear anything the better the chance of a takeover deal.

Aside from an email sent to all staff on the day of the proposed takeover announcement no other memos sent. Hopefully soon.

I thought with what went on in the wider market (look at Shell, BP, Tullow etc) and with no news we had a reasonable day. Especially considering we finished above 40p again.

Not really Britpop, the UAE transitioned to a Monday to Friday (half day) working week for the federal government and most private sector organisations followed suit. I do agree about Ramadan though and shorter working days so perhaps we will get some news on a Thursday or early Friday morning.

End to the day considering we stayed above 40p on a very down market day. Hopefully a bounce up again tomorrow.

They couldn't have been that scared off if they're back only 6 months later.

Mary, I've no idea why you believe an 80p - £1.20 offer is in the best interests of all. It most definitely isn't as it undervalues the business by a large amount.

Agreed, this is a positive step especially for the potential offer price which will need to be far higher than it would without a successful refinance.

Sharebel, you stated that the SP would fall in to the teens. Before news of the approach from Sidara was announced you and others like you were confidently stating that no-one would want to make an approach for a takeover of WG. Even now when Sidara have announced they are in negotiations regarding a possible takeover of WG you are implying no offer will be made when all the evidence suggests otherwise. Are you surprised no one is taking you seriously?

As for the shorts increasing if an offer of £1+ is made they'll disappear quicker than they arrived.

Marty, no one outside the board and Sidara know what the bid may or may not be yet. It's just rumours.

ILS, with all due respect an offer of £1.20 may be a good one if someone has bought at current prices but overall it devalues the potential of the business. If all goes to plan within 18 months we could be seeing a SP of £2+ and after that probably even more.
