I can't see an extension. Lots of DD has already been completed from last year and according to the FT with respect to the takeover...

A few people forgetting it was the FT who broke the story of the takeover talks between Sidara and WG before it was confirmed by the respective parties. Its probably safe to assume therefore, their assertion that Sidara are looking for a complete takeover of WG with a full cash offer to be factual.

Rock8, WG are not going to accept an offer of 70p after effectively rejecting one for £2.30 six months ago. If Sidara make an offer it will be less than £2.30, probably significantly less but it will be based on the value of the business and not on the value of the current SP.

Rock8, I'd say the opposite is true. The fact that they came back so quickly and they're taking so long means that the negotiations are serious and they're possibly ironing out the small details. Could still go either way of course but I'm cautiously confident of at least a bid being made.

Since the announcement of Sidaras takeover talks with WG. I've no idea whether a bid will take place but if I had to guess I would say there is a good chance of one. Probably won't get any news tomorrow due to Ramadan and a half working day in the UAE so perhaps something next week. As advised by WG hold your shares. I still think an offer of £1.20 - £1.50 will take place so huge upside for anyone buying at these prices.

To know if an identical RNS was issued last year? If not perhaps they intend to make a formal offer. If so then probably just due process. I had a very quick look and couldn't find an OPD RNS. Maybe someone with more patience can check.
