It’s about food companies having a rapid way to diversify from a heavily weighted HFSS (High Fat Sugar Salt) portfolio to a balanced portfolio.

This is my area of expertise….and the reason that underpins my investment in THG.
If anyone doubts the magnitude of this statement, look up “HFSS” and “ATNI” (Access to Nutrition Initiative). The latter as Index lists will give you more context…particularly the US Index 2022 which ranks food companies.

It looks like Apollo have made 5 bids for Wood Group and the price seems to have only been reported from the 3rd offer onwards….

I’ve been in this share for 3 years, but don’t post much. I’m very grateful to those whose knowledge I gain from though - thank you.

For what it’s worth, I believe the driver will be the fact that Apollo want to acquire the “entire issued and to be issued share capital”, suggesting that MM is not a part of the deal. Therefore, the golden share is still relevant and any price would need to be agreeable to MM.

If this is the case, I expect MM to be working with Balerion et al., to counter, so he can stay in control. After all, he recently told Ian McDonald from Belerion to “buckle up for the next 13 years”.

Just my opinion.
