Lahtojoki Permit is expected some time within the next 12 weeks, so the company must have been given an indication.
Am I right in saying that there are no other junior companies in the world with a pending mining permit for fancy diamonds? The world is minus 90% of its pink diamonds since Argyle closed, hence the constant rising price.
This is a niche market and the diamonds will have a mark on them to reflect their origin from Finland, and conflict free. The first diamond mine in Europe. After 5-6 years waiting for this permission, you would be foolish to think that there is not significant interest in this, especially with pink and blue diamonds. 60% + of the diamonds at Lahtojoki are gem quality too. Don't forget the 90,000ct/t grade from a sample at Lahtojoki. Academic papers were written about this. The highest grade in the world at the time, I believe.
So Lahtojoki has Pink, Blue, Brown, Yellow and possibly green (though i'm not sure it has green).
Kuhmo discovery has green, we already know, and we are told that it is believed to be a "stonker" of a kimberlite. We shall see. I suspect the green diamond source could turn out to be the motherload, judging by the level of excitement around it. Looks like its 2 large kimberlites.
Who knows what will happen with Northern Ireland licences and the other Finland licences, but there are a number of strings to the KDR bow and any could progress rapidly now. The Lahtojoki Mining permission will put a floor under everything. April/May/June? anyones guess which month. If anyone knows of a better opportunity on AIM, I would be happy to take a look. I don't see any, especially for the niche fancy diamond sector.
