That's a good advert from a visual and messaging standpoint.

My biggest concern regarding the growth of the Myprotein is that there is a growing awareness coming out of the scientific side of the health care community that the majority of western diets already contain more protein than our bodies need and as our bodies cannot store protein in the same way it can store carbs and fat taking protein supplements is quite frankly a waste of money. That's balanced off by the fact that most supplements including the billions spent on vitamins and minerals are also a waste of money but it does stop people throwing money at them.

I don't agree with a lot of the MM worship but I try my very best not to stifle it and I would never ask for a post to be removed just because I don't agree with it.

Obviously we are all different but I read the original link and then reflected on the fact that MyProtein has a global brand director and also of head of brand, mused about the flowery nonsense they said and gave a wry smile at the thought of Mike Ashley being involved, he would sort that lot out PDQ :-)

I am glad you're ok with a lively debate, I have not requested any part of this thread to be deleted.

Why the time gap, simple I am busy and whilst overall I find this forum interesting it's never going to be the top of my interests.

As for the City AM purchase, my gut reaction was negative however I have no desire to get into an argument about something that's value to the business is 100% unproven - only a year or two from now will we truly know the outcome of the City AM purchase and obviously I hope it's positive.

Whilst the protein products are grabbing the headlines and making the money there is currently a small but influential group of doctors and scientists pushing hard against Ultra Processed Foods (UPFs). A simple explanation of what a UPF is as follows. If it contains something you would not normally find in your kitchen then it's probably an UPF. Examples are emulsifiers, stabilisers, nitrates, etc. UPFs damage your gut microbiome and are to be avoided if possible.

If thats what required then advertise on the tele, on the radio, on the broadsheets, somewhere with genuine reach.

Don't pay a million plus for some thing with a miniscule circulation (which is very different to readership)

So print run of 70k, circulation of 67k and THG are rumoured to be buying it for low millions and lets take a punt and say its £1.5m. That equates to >£22 per potential reader which is insane and yes I know it has a website, everyone has a website, THG my protein app has over a million users so based on what I know so far I am less than impressed. Lets hope I am missing some killer chunk of info.
