Reported here in Spain
The most substantial expansion, however, comes from Jet2, which is significantly increasing its Spain-to-UK network for summer 2026, largely centred around London Gatwick. From 26 March 2026, Jet2 will begin flying from Tenerife to Gatwick three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Additional Canary Islands routes will follow for the summer season, with twice-weekly services from Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria operating on Wednesdays and Sundays, and Lanzarote connecting to Gatwick on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The Balearic Islands will see particularly strong growth. Ibiza will be linked to Gatwick twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, while Menorca will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Mallorca will benefit from the most frequent service of all, with up to ten flights per week between Palma and Gatwick throughout summer 2026, making short-notice trips to the UK significantly easier for residents.
On the mainland, Alicante will gain five weekly services to Gatwick, while Málaga will operate four flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Catalonia is also included in Jet2’s expansion, with Girona served three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and Reus connected on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Together, these routes substantially broaden direct Spain-to-UK travel options beyond the traditional major hubs.
