Also agree with the comments about Goingtomoonufo. Don't pick on him because of his dyslexia. Call him out on his comments of 0.25p if you disagree with it as I did, but not his typing style.

@Goingtomoonufo Please don't "guess" share price movements. What do you think might happen to send the share price down to 0.25p? I don't think many people are going to be selling losses here when RMM has so much potential. I'm amazed people are selling at the current price.

@Jcreek2020 I have always been careful and tight with my money, looking to save pennies here and there, looking for money saving tips etc. So the idea of losing anything at all on the stock market is scary. I'm mentally stable however, if I did lose anything I would just accept it. I've only put in savings I have built up since the start of last year. Not life changing, but but it's a significant sum of money to me.

@K3VMC There are examples all the time. Take the "Back in" post on the front page for example. Lots of people are selling this high and buying low, and they are welcome to as that's a valid strategy to make money in this market. But it's not great to watch people bragging about this whilst you're holding.

@Everup To be honest even in 4 years there is a good chance I wouldn't need to sell all of my investments - unless I put every bit of spare cash I earn into the markets for the next 4 years. I'll almost certainly be changing strategy in a couple of years - perhaps move some winners into index trackers. Just got to invest knowing your timescales.

@Everup True, positivity certainly helps. I think I've just been fed up watching people trade this up and down - telling people it's a good buy etc to ramp the price up, then dumping, then buying back lower and repeating. Seeing the same thing today. It's not great when you're holding losses.

@Stnz I disagree. I would rather take a risk investing than have my money sat in savings accounts for years. I may be planning a house move around 2025, and may want my funds back out. Are you saying I shouldn't be investing? If I have to sell losses in 4 years time so be it. But it would be a very disappointing investing career to be red after four years. I guess there is always the risk of a market crash like March last year and I'll no doubt move to safer investments before 2025 but that is 4 years off.

@Mittenator Just have to wait and see. People have been predicting 300p/500p in the near future for a while on here but the share price has been going in the wrong direction.

Thing is I've already rode through a dip with this Delacey. I didn't sell a single share when it dropped from 240p to 130p in April. But it bounced back to 200p so quickly max fear hadn't kicked in. I reduced at that point as I was over leveraged but I got through the dip. This one just seems to be playing out a lot slower, which makes it worse.

@Mittenator It may well be a good entry but when I sold those same shares at 117p yesterday it's a premium! Should have bought them back at 100p but I have paper balls.

@NelsontheDog I tried tranches when I got involved with RMM. Started buying at 0.36 and topped up over the space of 3 weeks all the way up to 0.57. It peaked at 0.62 and now sits at 0.37 with my average of 0.49. So tranches can backfire as well if you're not careful!

Going to be transparent here - half of the money I took out of ARB yesterday I have put back in this afternoon at a 12% or so premium at 133p. It will no doubt retreat back to the 110s by the end of the day. Everything I buy falls. I'm not adding any more as I'll then be back into having more shares than I would like.

@Mittenator i really don't want this to fall below 100 as I am still invested - just not as much. Would like to recoup some of my losses. If it goes to 300p I'll be happy as I'll have recouped the majority of the losses I've made on this, even if it will suck a bit knowing I could have been 40% up at that point.

@NelsontheDog Main problem I have with investing is choosing an entry point. The 200s was clearly a bad time with ARB. I've done the same with other shares. The good solid FTSE investments I sold to buy more risky AIM stocks and it hasn't worked out.

@Poptimist As good as your intent may be, people can't make investment decisions based on posts on here. For every post telling people not to sell there is one telling people the opposite. It's important to do your own research and I had concluded this crypto bull run had come to a premature end. It's starting to look like I was wrong, and I admit that.

@K3VMC Why do you care about people losing money? You were saying a 50% loss is something to brag about earlier. I'm open about my losses because I like to be transparent, and I'm still on this board because I'm still invested - just with less shares than I had.

Just got to learn from mistakes. I was always planning to reduce my holding but didn't want to sell at such a high loss. I thought the bitcoin bull run had ended so I wanted to cut my losses there and then. Looks like I may be wrong on the bitcoin bull run although it could still retreat from this level. Not having powder for drops has been a mistake I've made on all my investments. Not afraid to admit I'm new to investing as of a few months ago. Should have stayed away from volatile stocks and also AIM as I'm losing money in more places than here. Losing far more from RMM than ARB right now.

To be honest I don't know what I was thinking selling the near bottom rather than waiting for it to go back up somewhat. But what's done is done. Bitcoin seems to be holding up ok now. I guess everyone is happy seeing 41k after it dropped to 30k yesterday. Before yesterday people were worried about it dropping to 41k.

@K3VMC Your post has been reported. If you have nothing constructive to say, don't post. And certainly don't go spewing abuse at people who are worried about their capital. Mentioning a 117p sale is hardly a brag is it? I could talk about the portion I sold at 190p if you want to hear bragging, but I don't because that too was a loss.

@Blubay I agree. Everyone needs to have a limit for what they are willing to put into a volatile stock. I probably would have done better wth FTSE 100 stocks as well. I sold a lot of recovery stocks to invest in ARB and AIM stocks that haven't performed as well as I'd hoped. It's definitely worth having a safe fund and a risk fund as you suggest.

DJ Ryan was over leveraged and reduced his holding after the RNS. He still holds around 67 million shares which is a lot, but his average is quite low so not in the red. He is busy managing his pub now that pubs have reopened so I doubt we'll see much of him.

I think RMM has been over sold since the RNS. It was disappointing I agree, but not disappointing enough that the share price should drop 35%. I'm sat here 26% down which is painful to look at, but just got to keep holding as it will bounce back on any good news.

Fair points to both of you. I stupidly put myself in a position where I held more shares than I was comfortable with, so I didn't want to pour more money into it by averaging down. Difficult situation.

I think crypto is here to stay, I'm just not bullish on where bitcoin is heading in the next year or so with this run. My intent was to hold for about 3-4 years as I may need the money back out then, rather than holding for decades.

@Stnz Averaging down can lead to being over invested so you have to be careful. There's also the catching falling knife problem. Like if I had spare funds and wanted to average down I would have done so around 160p. It fell all the way to 100p since. It's hard to time the bottoms. The worst possible outcome is averaging down and then watching the price fall further. Selling and watching it rise is bad too I suppose, as I am witnesses since yesterday.

And won't that be a lesson well learned on holding vs selling for a loss. Not guaranteed though which is why I didn't want to hold the amount I did.

From my perspective, I feel like I missed the boat with this one and the time to buy was December or even earlier. People who get in late and miss the rise usually end up losing money. Seen it on other shares too. It didn't feel that way in March when I originally bought, as I thought low 200s was the retrace from the over bought 300+. But when you look at it, even the current share price is a massive rise since December nevermind 200s.

@Herdie What are the "expected highs"? I've heard predictions up to 300k, but I'm thinking a 100k peak is more likely if the current movement isn't the end of this bull run with the 65k peak.

I think I'm just worrying too much because I'm losing a lot of money on this share. If my average was 125p I would be a lot calmer, but because I bought in around 225p it's more concerning. The shares I sold yesterday were almost a 50% loss. They represented around 25% of my original holding. I now hold exactly 1/3 of my original holding which is a much more reasonable number.

@Stnz That's a fair comment. In reality, no one knows. I'm just worried bitcoin will tumble back to say 10k during a bear market and these shares will end up back where they were last year as everyone rushes for the exit. It's quite clear from the current share price that very few people plan to hold this longterm, otherwise we'd still be above 200p. Those that have bought and held in recent months are getting shafted. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have sold any at 117p yesterday but I genuinely thought that was it for this bitcoin cycle.

@PennyStockGrowth This is what I keep saying, but you're labelled a troll if you try to use common sense and think about the price of a bitcoin in May 2022. As someone said earlier, ARB doesn't sell the bitcoins it mines so the current value of a bitcoin doesn't matter too much. That means even if bitcoin skyrockets in September and reaches an all time high, it won't matter. Because when the bull market ends and crypto comes crashing down ARB will still be holding its bitcoins.

So unless you sell your shares at this top then their value will come crashing back down with bitcoin. People will sell their shares at this top - they aren't going to watch their investments plummet again. Short term hold or sell if you wet the bed in my opinion. I wet the bed yesterday and sold a portion of my holding for a massive loss. The rest should recover those losses if the share price hits something like £3.50.

Sorry K3VMC but people called me stupid and other names when I sold 40% of my holding at a loss at 190p. Look what has happened since. It may well fall further if bitcoin continues its downward trend. I think this bull run is over (my opinion) so surely that is reason enough to justify selling more.

If you must know the ARB shares I sold went into CHF. I'm not going to say it is a better buy than ARB because who knows. But I trust my money there more than here right now.

Yes @LimpingAlong, and shares are worth nothing if you never cash them in. Eventually you have to convert them back to currency and take your loss. May as well reduce that loss. The shares I sold are already worth 7% less than I sold them for.
