Dear Mr Spacetomato, regarding the top secret buy order of 149.99p. you referred to that was stopping the SP going above 150p....Do you think its been filled yet?
I only ask as you can buy quite a lot now at 146p and can't quite work out why the SP is not above 150p?
Any ideas/clues/inside knowledge....

WTG, whats special about Friday?

A lot of TA is short term (Hours/days/weeks) and you need the platform to have the ability to short as well. It can get hellishly complicated but I have found that keeping it simple works much more effectively for me. But each to their own. (Lots and I mean lots, of people think it is absolute rubbish and get really quite heated for anybody who thinks TA can be used as a predictive tool)

DG, the great thing about charts is that nothing else matters. The floor seems to be 247p because a reversal pattern in the chart has occurred. it is just bumping up to a resistance point of about 265p now and if it goes through that then 285p would be the next target. If it fails and falls again, then it will retest 256p and if that fails it will retest 247p

CI, For me stock picking is ALL about psychology of people. Fundamentals don't do it for me at all. They are always out of date and are therefore, deceptively, unreliable. Take EVE, the SP is based on what people think the FUTURE will bring., not the current, tiny , 2 months in a row of trading profit in May and June (we are already about to start August.... The fundamentals are always behind the curve. So, price is affected by supply and demand of buyers and sellers and its people who buy and sell, and due to the fear and greed emotions that are constantly in play, are perhaps more predictable than you might imagine.

Hi CI, I have used Technical analysis for years and years and years and find it the most reliable help to deciding when to buy and sell shares. Its not infallible (I have yet to find a method that is!) but it works for me and I am using the chart to show levels where I think it most likely the SP will go to and where it will meet resistance and support levels. I am looking further out on this stock because as of today, I think the story has changed and if it goes on to be a profitable company (I am assuming the next update confirm profitable trading), then I think those targets hove into view. But who knows....

Hi CI no, im still in, my initial target is 17p where I will maybe sell some but ultimately 25p is where I would probably leave, there is a small 3.0-3.1p resistance to overcome, then its 5.7 p but ultimately I think if all goes well these will be swept away with a tougher ask to go past 7-8p but Its not often you have a chance to make this much profit so I am not anxious to get a quick profit on this one and perhaps give it 12 months or so. (Of course that's what I think today. If things change then so will my thoughts, I try not to get remotely emotionally attached to the betting slip I purchased.....)

The fact that TA does not read reports is what makes it so attractive to many traders. The SP price chart is simply a graphical representation of peoples buys and sells. As people in herd/groups are emotionally predictable it follows that a pattern on a chart is likely to repeat itself. The key here is people are emotional beings. the whole point is that it is not a rational dissemination of the "facts" of a business. As we all know it is very easy to get carried away and buy potentially at any price to get in on the ground floor for future gains, Fear and Greed.... that's the drivers of stock prices.

The good news is its unwinding (sp falling) as I type. This will ultimately make space for it to rise further (which is why shares never go in a straight line. it works on the way down too.)

Simms the RSI indicator is used in technical analysis and it is what it is. Its an algorithym based on the SP movement, not the volume of shares bought.

Currently, the stock is in over bought territory when using the RSI indicator on a chart, which suggests a fall or at least temporary stagnation is likely needed to unwind that position. (Like everything the market could just move the stock further up and make it even more over bought, but its a well used indicator so I expect a pull back before any further increases in SP)

There you go lin, its not about negativity for me, I try and work out what is reasonably the most negative slant and if the positives still win the balance then I buy/sell accordingly. I bought in only 2 days before the results which was a 180 degree turn from where I was only a few days before, but BB's are always going to be overly manned with positive views so I usually end up with both the plusses and the minuses. (Of course I don't always come to the right conclusion Ha!), but I like all the posters here. This is defo one of the nicest boards here I reckon. ;0))

Not really, its always going to be a spikey share on news,, but who knows. I just think it will go quiet now for a few months

No I havent sold yet, but realistically most of the move in the SP is now over (imo) until new info arrives which is likely to be the next update. so whenever that is, 6 months whatever. Slow sales period is upon EVE, purchase price sales have started, (hinders profits?), uncertain future, so hard to predict sales (CC said that). So why, beyond the very good rise that accompanied these results should there be much more just yet?
