Oh and if I thought there was only a 50% chance of the deal, I’d probably wait until it’s approved before pumping money here ! 50:50 is the same odds as heads or tails ! It is not investing !! I personally think the chance of the deal being approved is 80-90% ! It’s a matter of “when” not “if”!

BTW Malcy originally tipped them in the 30s (from memory)... it may have been higher! Malcy is a renowned tipster ! He is revered by his peers! He famously tipped Caza Oil & Gas and Afren... more recently he has been seen aggressively tipping VOG (very overvalued garage) and Pantheon resources! Leaves a lot to be desired ! Why a respectable market company would retweet a tip for a mediocre substandard tipster... god only knows ! #embarrassing

So answer me this : what would have happened if AMER had issued an update this morning saying that there has been an environmental incident or financial fraud or something bad had happened . Say the shares opens at 8p or 6p ... what would have the market makers done ? Averaged down ???

Apologies major Thomas you are correct !! I was wrong!! I sincerely apologise !! Indeed Market makers bought the 3 million shares from yesterday and also the 29+ million from the previous trading days ! They are holding them in the hope that the current well will strike black gold or that there will be a takeover before Xmas ! They don’t care about creating liquidity or making a market ... AMER shares are so cheap that they have decided to hold them themselves! At 10p it was too good an opportunity to miss.. I bow to your superior knowledge of market makers

Major Tomas Don’t really want to get into an argument about market makers ! To clarify though: The transactions take seconds / milliseconds. the make their money by connecting buyers and sellers ! They make their money based on the difference between the bid and ask price (basically a small commission/ profit in each trade being made) ! If they were buying AMER shares and holding them waiting for value to increase through drilling or by production or through profits a) they would be called “investors” not MM B) they would have to declare that because that would be illegal! Any entity holding more than 3% must declare it !
