SAV plodding on regardless and claiming legal right to do so but further frustrating the locals. Sooner some clear comms come out about the whole situation the better.

Reaction to this news upon market opening tomorrow will be interesting. Not in the clear as such because corruption still alleged within lithium approval process even if PM mistakenly named, so the underlying issue still exists for SAV to continue to fight to stay 100% clean of.

SP hit today probably because many holders were hoping for a quick resolution, but now at least 6 months in limbo with elections so getting out for now ? No matter how much work SAV get on with in the meantime, a new govt could pull the plug next March onwards if not supportive. Hard to imagine they would but also not easy to risk investment cash on unknown Portuguese politician's decisions in 6 months time.

I sense the sp could end today around the 2p mark as increasingly nervous holders (understandably) seem to be jumping out in numbers and don't want to be invested over the weekend in case more negative publicity appears and SAV opens way down come Monday morning. Nightmare as I really felt after years of being invested here that we would finally start moving up in next few months to multiples of current sp as the progress towards producing gathered momentum, but now so much uncertainty exists and is likely to remain for 6 to 12 months I'd reckon whilst this legal and political mess works through. Infuriating to say the least !

Not sure if this is good or bad news for SAV. Enables work to progress without interference but then if newly elected party is anti Li mining then all that work and cost may be rendered useless if spanners are thrown in the works and delays imposed by antagonistic red tape. Surely this uncertainty will detract potential investors & partners who won't risk involvement until elections are done and clarity confirmed around the legalities of this mess. Doesn't matter if SAV has done no wrong directly. If govt decisions were made based on corruption then surely those will need review at least, which could impact SAV? Market hates uncertainty so I'm not holding out much hope of a good sp for a long while yet. Mid to late next year at least I'd guess before any significant progress, which may not make much difference in the long run as that is around when DFS due I think ?

I not 100% sure on that just yet. Althougb SAV feel they themselves have acted within the law, the question is whether the other parties involved did too in enabling approvals to go through. If it is found that those approvals within the process were based on bribery or similar then my concern is whether the DIA could be revoked and set us back considerably. I hope the investigations are completed quickly so we know the outcome before Christmas or else this could drag on and hang over SAV for a while.

This news seems to have remained under the radar of the market so far but concerned that sp could suffer if/when a potential link Is made with SAV and issuance of the DIA. The sooner SAV can issue an RNS to categorically clear SAV of any implications or association with this news, the better for us all. I would hope that the Portuguese CEO will be on to this early tomorrow.

This consistent unloading is puzzling and dragging the sp down. Need some positive updates over next couple of months to reverse the slide and attract buyers.

Quindell fiasco years ago was genuine fraudulent accounting yet the attempted legal action there by shareholders came to nowt, so not a cat in hell's chance here as if was simply down to operational failures of a gas developer/producer, which is a well known risk business, so it's like trying to sue for losing a coin toss.

Yes, DF promised a very busy period to the end of 2023 with loads happening and progress made, so surely some newsworthy events should be communicated before Xmas.

Not sure that is strictly true ChameleonMan as approval is subject to the conditions imposed, which hopefully SAV will achieve without any issues. I do agree that further discussion with opposers is worthless and timewasting. We have legal right to the use of the land so should just impose that without delay and at least cost. Time is money in any business so just crack on and the power of legal right will see off the opposition in due course.

It already seems obvious to me that the locals will not budge in their opposition and attitude so it is time to play hardball and use the power of law that SAV and govt have to use this land as required, as wasting any more time could cost the whole project severely so enforce that legal right now and crack on with the land acquisitions at the soonest opportunity. I for one will feel zero satisfaction if my large investment in SAV disappears into thin air because the plug is pulled on the mine so that a few aged locals can carry on farming their land in a traditional way.

Tropical blast, working with them has been tried but getting nowhere so high time for a more concrete approach now to be taken IMO.

The Portuguese Govt need to get on with promptly getting tough with the locals if they are serious about supporting important EU projects like this. They need to impose a firm deadline by which all offers must be accepted or that land will be expropriated at a significantly lower cost than the offer. The locals will just keep trying legal action to delay things so long that SAV will be too late to the lithium party and Barroso mine will become a dead duck. We need to hear of some solid tangible progress by end of December rather than just talks continuing.

Mick88 - those 60 parties can still be involved if Aethel take over SAV and the EU won't care if its SAV or Aethel, as long as the lithium is mined ASAP. So a head in the sand approach of ignoring the risk of a cheap buyout due to local pressures causing too many difficulties and a depressed cheap sp would be dangerous IMHO.

Massive shortage of EU lithium so hardly at bottom of supply demand cycle !
