Can't imagine a bid whilst the legal action uncertainty hangs over SAV, plus surely any prospective bidder would have bought bucket-loads around 1.6p last month rather than wait for sp to rise back up!?

Tropical - I think it is obvious after all these years now that the locals will NEVER agree so SAV have no option but to engage their legal powers to "remove the obstacles", so should just get on with it now, as that might spur the courts into getting on with their bit too regarding the "baseless" challenges.

So it sounds like yet another legal case is bring lodged? Getting ridiculous now as none being thrown out or won/lost but they're stacking up so surely there must be overlap and courts need to amalgamate them all anx get on with deciding once and for all WTF the legal outcome is. I know SAV are pushing on well in the meantime but it makes me nervous that the rug could be pulled from under our feet at some future date. And will SAV ever use their legal power to just force the stubborn locals out as surely they need to soon as time is ticking on. Once they start doing that maybe the others will take cash and disappear.

Tropicalblast - I'm not a close follower of Portuguese politics but I do recall that the opposition were against the mining of lithium when previous election occurred so it was good for SAV that Costa won then, so I guess we still need his party to win again (Socialists) to continue the support and avoid further headwinds.

I agree with the content of this latest RNS issued just now but, regardless of the validity of the DIA process that was followed, if does seem that the legal challenges SAV are facing may be capable of scuppering things to some extent at least, whereas originally I thought they were weak challenges and would be swatted aside quickly, but it seems not and they threaten to drag on for a long while yet. Whilst SAV can currently carry on their work regardless I do worry that at some point the buffers may be hit by legalities and that risk is clearly preventing the sp from performing well. Any potential partners are surely going to need some solid legal assurances regarding their investment so that could take time, which SAV do not really have. All very frustrating but I guess all we can do is bail or sit tight and pray that SAV will be producing in 2026 but legal challenges will either be finished or still dragging on unable to stop SAV progressing to production and profitability.

For all our sakes, let's hope that Li demand for EV & other batteries proves to be more akin to the CD industry with a decent lifespan & widespread adoption and not the MD which seemed to come and go very quickly and was never that widely adopted before streaming and downloads came along to wipe them out.

Yes SAV sp will struggle until confirmation that DIA stands and that no illegal agreements occurred that cause the new govt to insist on its cancellation and re-application required. I sense the new govt would be keen to get things moving and confirm its legality promptly so SAV can push on and Portugal can reap benefit from Li asap.....but it's a waiting game until the spring at least. Hopefully the milestones detailed in latest SAV presentation have not been pushed back as they said they were continuing regardless of the investigation.

Currently 160Wh/kg v 300Wh/kg for lithium, but presumably they will improve that over further versions in next few years to narrow that gap ? SAV need to move at maximum speed to maximise their market whilst lithium is the best option.

May be just my naivety then, but I just find it surprising that SAV made the self-sufficient statement but are only now finding out what water source potential is on site !

Decent update overall but one point that surprised me is the hydrogeology work status, as water use was a massive bone of contention with local opposition during work towards DIA so am surprised that this work was not done previously dud to the DIA claim that the project will be self-sufficient for water and will not take any from surrounding sources, but how did they know that if only now doing this kind of work ? I admit I may be misunderstanding the purpose of this current water work but it did surprise me to read this at face value. If anyone knows FACTUAL detail behind it then please post as it would be very helpful to understand.
