On my development there is a mixture of semi-detached, detached, bungalows, apartments at a range of 1-5 bedrooms.

It's a pretty standard development built by persimmons and while the housing are not terraced (would we really want to go back>) they are pretty squeezed on like most new developments.

Every new development has to have a percentage of social housing. I live on a new build development and there are areas full of orbit social and part buy housing.

The media never mention this though.

We need more houses though right? Unless we intentionally drag down house prices all new housing will be unaffordable. All through my working life housing has been unaffordable, rent too high, etc, etc. It's not like it's a new problem.

Patience and discipline are the two main principles. I thought I might hit stop losses last week with the pull back and it would have been tempting to cut looses - however my two positions have both pulled back onto a small profit today so if we have a nice rise this week I'll be able to cash out again.

It's more interesting than general investing as well, well at least when things go well.

T4G - I use IG for all my trading and ISAs as the platform is brilliant and the prices are live.

I usually set a stop loss of 95% of opening position and then have been cashing in after a reasonable rise - only need a few % increase to make reasonable cash. FTSE 350 companies only on a 1:5 leverage with large amounts on order to make it worth your while. My average time holding is 11 days on my winners and seven days on my losers.

I'm about 40% up since July so far and am heading toward an 80% success rate.

I wasn't convinced enough to top up.

Results coming up Thursday. If we get a decent increase is it time to cash out and enjoy the indirect holding via BH? Or could it run and run and offset some of the current misery here?

Hi Pipe - I thought I'd found the bottom and pivot point after the last set of results after watching for twelve odd months since I exited as the proverbial was hitting the fan.

So I guess you are describing the very thing I did, although I got my timing wrong when looking at it from a short term perspective.

Lots of people get good pay for good jobs. The nurses and teachers have become the poster children of the poor, when the reality is they earn well over the national average. Meanwhile the cleaners in the schools and hospitals who receive proper poor pay just get on with it with no fuss.

This is where footballers are not just footballers but a marketeer's dream. CR has single-handedly put Saudi football on the map and now loads of players are cashing in.

To look at Professional footballers only as footballers is highly simplistic.

All the youth are on insta or TikTok now so it's full of us older folk posting about our children and holidays. Or maybe someone needs a plumber, has lost a cat or electrician husband has finished a first fix and they are posting their handiwork up. Or local community pages who have found a deer which has lost it's mother or maybe a police helicopter is circling and the nosey beggars want to know why.

BTW what you are actually doing is trading, not investing. An investor shouldn't/wouldn't be worried about a 7% drop if they were convinced of their medium/long term view of the company. While you might not catch the bottom in reality who does?

Btw I've done very well recently doing just that with CFDs.

I've had success with Rolls Royce, M&S, Games Worksop and Centrica. Lost out with Ocado and 3i.

My advice on email sharing, etc. Don't trust anyone. Cybercrime is rife and the whole point of going on these boards is to be anonymous right?. Otherwise we might as well all be doing this on FB or X?

No you don't - you're not invested in anything. Otherwise you wouldn't be hanging round here and REVB like a bad smell. You would take an interest and partake in other boards in which you would have an interest.

Plus a labour government who will be anti-business/shareholder.

I think this is purely macro related with the interest rate news settling down and shares recovering from last week. I’d say REVB seems to be positions itself nicely for results by the looks of things.

It's madness. I cannot see any kind of viable roadmap that will ever see this listed again.

I went to Burnley V Man Utd in the away end at Turf Moor the season they got into the premiership. It was a moody midweeker under the flood lights and had an awesome atmosphere. I knew once we went 1-0 down with the hostile atmosphere that we were never going to get back in it. I remember a pint being under £2 as well in the Wetherspoons.

I did get a traffic cone thrown at me as well going into the away end.
