Andy re "The same people that call out O and G still use cars, medicines, plastic polymers that come from this vital industry."
I think you asking a lot of your average Daily Mail to be able to ad 2 + 2 ... Just MO
Actually I think I'd get more pleasure from filtering you!!
Someone sold 2,654,145 shares approx 15 mins ago .... (don't) PANIC Mr Mainwaring
ScottG re "No that is not what a penny stock is, they are low mcap companies. Evr turnover in excess of $14 billion worldwide.
EBITDA $5 billion net profit £3 billion!"
I think you are trying to take a horse to water ......
And going up .... 5th Floor anyone??
I don't normally make SP predictions, but anyone who thinks this share is going to drop below £1, when the dividend is available is out of their mind.
Re "All BP get and would ever get from rosneft is a dividend". This might have been answered earlier and I missed, in which case I apologise ....
IF BP cannot actually sell its share in Rosneft (and apparently abdn can't), I assume that BP would continue to be derfacto sharehoders and continue to receive dividends, as and when they are payable - right?
SM, I'm not sure that is correct - I appreciate Wikipedia is not always a reliable source (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_fields_operated_by_BP), but BP's major oil filelds still seem to be in the North Sea and the USA
Further to Char's post, why is Shell up approx 2.5% and BP down 3%? As previously stated, both have ineterests in Russia, perhaps BP more so?
Guys, I know I'm VERY larte on this (probably in more that one sense...). but in the DM article, AL is ranked 3rd and I think the highest on AIM?? I just wondered if anyone had an opinion on the competition?
Nice article, Mark - thanks. I just wondered how you would rank BP's prospects against the other majors?
So much for the "runiurs" that February 17th was the day that Putin's men would go marching in to Ukraine!! Or does anyone think I'm speaking too soon??
Timster, you'll have to read about in Book 9 of the Harry Potter series ...
Wow, that's a nice cheery note to approach the end of today (pun intended), Slater!!
All of my Oil shares have now gone red, particularly Shell...
FG, in my limited experience, the people with a degree in Chemistry (of which I am one) do not normally head up financial institutions i.e. the ones who buy / sell shares!!
Just considering the immediate term.... Given the fact that thr shares don't go ex-D until 10th March and the dividend is approx 15p and for arguments sakes the SP is 400p, that would give you a return of 3.75%, which may not be GREAT, but is certainly better than any BS???
Hi guys, some advice, please. I've been sent a W-8BEN form by Computershare regarding my (Wife's) share holding in TILS. Presumeably most / all of you have also had this form? Can I complete the form on line rather than the hard copy + post etc?
Re "....after all they do say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit ; - )" Also sometimes (unless you know the source well), it can be difficult to pick up.
Re "Yes but they [Putin] won't start a war if they are intelligent, because it would destroy their economy."
That's a moot point GT, given the arrogance and ego of the nice Mr Putin.
I'm continuing to hold both the shares and my breath ....
