m8, you could have put a smiley face at the end of the post to communicate that ! no harm done, at the mo, i would have thought keep out of the market unless there is a stck you need to get out of or a stock to get in to at a price that may not be achieved again and i'm staring at CPI when i say that.

its not a "normal" market so could be +5 or-5, it is dependent on real time news from a war zone, is there any point in predicting a SP ? i couldnt even predict a SP for any stock at any time until the "war" comes to an end.

seems to suggest a recovery in trading and stabilising NAV, i would have thought some upward movement in SP to maybe early 40's but not much more than that for the time being.

if i were BoD (wrongly) i would wait until the 8th to announce. i dont think we have a BoD who act quickly to do things. everything is slow and laboured and it shows over the last 12 months or so.

hi EC, results on 8th should be interesting and i assume accompanied by their vision for the tender offer, etc. the BoD have the opp to put the price at a decent level to get SH's to buy in and also the rump to see a clear strategy for the future with Egypt, Catchwer run offs, cash surplus. will they take it ? depends on SP over the next fortnight and the offer price.

i wouldnt disagree WhiteHat, a 10% premium would do me for all my shares and i would buy another tranche at below tender price to keep for the Egypt, etc etc growth. (or not !)

LL there will be "loads" of cash left after the $ 500m, i dont know if the $ 200m will be used up also. so just from the tax refund they will have minimum $ 306m plus the cash we have now and with Catcher run off to come in also. more than enough..

LL, no issue, thing is us small SH's will only do what is best for us, sell into the market, sell into the tender offer or hold for future SP growth. i had assumed that the RNS would have boosted the SP to 225+ but i cant see it getting there unless CNE sets a offer price higher than that. hopefully the next fortnight will provide more info in terms of SP movement, a potential TO price or how CNE is trading on 8th March. in my view, at least we have 215 as a base level to work from.

i think they wanted to see what happened to the SP (with the nightmare scenario of Rus/Ukr in the background affecting the markets) and also not to look too presumptious that the cash was coming. i dont blame them for not putting the tender offer docs out yet but what i find challenging is the current buy back is a dead duck, the tender offer will be interesting as to what SP they pitch it at and what is the point of a $ 200m share buy back, isnt that what the tender offer is for in any case ?

see, i'm wondering what management will do. say it remains 215-220 for a couple of weeks or so, they need to send out the circular for the tender price. they want to use (up to) $ 500m on the offer. what do you do, pay SP less x%, SP as is or SP + x% ? why would SH's sell up for say 230ish when they know it might move to 250+ on trading from Egypt, Catcher run-offs, etc ? if the SP moves up to say 235/240 and they tender at say 225/230, i would sell in the market to get the top slice. i really dont know where this is going, i would have thought most SH's would have been happy with a 50/75p dividend and share consolidation but a tender offer complicates matters. i'm not a professional shareholder just someone who wants the best price for the shares whether pre tender or post tender if i decide to hang in. AIMHO

what the market thinks of future prospects, management, lack of suitable targets, etc ? or is it just games to get a decent tender price ? anyhoo, a bit of a damp squib this and i thought we might be 225+ on the news. time will tell

i just heard corks popping in CNE Towers - they must be over the moon. i still feel cheated on the Arbitration v Indian Law issue but hey ho such is life. put it down to experience and getting something back.

so with the slight SP movement, are we saying that the market fully priced in the receipt of funds to 210 ?
