ah well it's only money, hope it bounces back today but i wish i had sold some this morning when it got to 230

so TO price is set at 223 and full entitlement of $ 500m taken out. well as a remaining SH, it seems value accreting to those who do not have any shares under the TO, there is no special divi i assume so we can just sell up (if we want to) at a market price. and as we speak the SP bombs. hopefully it is a temporary thing ?

230+ already - wow !

and timing. i expect the VWAW to be 226.XXX for today and a mean VWAW of 223p (rounded down to closest 1p) when announced, probably tomorrow. i also expect only $ 300m/350m of the TO to be taken up for valid acceptances and the balance to be a meaningful sum to be a special divi to remaining shareholders. from tomorrow, MS have the green light to re-commence the share buy back programme but they will be as useful as a chocolate Tpot and buy a couple of million a week (maximum) as they want to "support" the SP for as long as possible and of course earn their fees for doing so. in the meantime, SP to go 230+ and no doubt CNE will see smaller SH's selling up as they have either had enough or cant wait for an uplift in the CNE operations from Egypt as well as seeing how the deferred receipts from the NS turn out. GL LTH's, any meaningful special divi and SP @ 230+ and i'll be selling up also.

EC, my G**gle Fiannce chart says differently re previous highs, ie 250+ in Dec'20. not an issue, i can see this getting to 230+ this week and then powering on once the TO is out of the way. just a hunch, but well over due imo.

they are listing the VVAW on the CNE site and i think it is 4th day today with tomorrow left and then i assume they will announce the 5 day VVAW and then the SP when they have "worked" the numbers. i assume it will be closer to 225 now depending on tomorrow's trading.

not taking anything away from CHAR, but would just be nice to see 25p, 50p, etc before the talk of £1+ comes into play. as for £3, i'd become a millionaire and that ain't gonna happen in my lifetime.

i have 2 separate holdings - one in trading a/c and one in SIPP. i have tendered the shares in trading a/c at VWAW + 5%. leaving SIPP holding for the future.

that's a fair amount of long term planning you have there. most people cant see past the next 0.9 years never mind the next 900 years ! ;-))

NQM, ive been tempted recently but happier that SP has come from 180's recently to 217 today. i dont think we will get 5% premium on the V*** price, probably 2% ish. hopefully it will be 225 by then and a bit of an increase and then people can sell into the market at the time. i think i have until midnight 31st March to decide, so will wait until then. GL but i dont think i will be buying back in if i am out of CNE, the BoD dont fill me with confidence.

as i see it, the Strike Price will be the price set to take up the $ 500m available. if everyone says VWAP then it will be that and if everyone says VWAP + 5% then it will be that. however it is likely to be > = VWAP and < VWAP + 5% on probability. each SH will have a different reason to tender and i assume a fair amount of SH's will not tender at all. the problem is tendering without knowing the Strike Price so you could end up or down depending on what you tender. or you sell into the market to get certainty at a price you are happy with. i assume most will hedge their bets and put in a %age at each pricing level to get a better average if accepted.

5% of £ 2.70, is 13.5p per share. would you not be happier thinking you got £ 2.70 per share from the 5 days before closing price of £ 2.15, ie a 55p per share increase and not worrying about losing out on 13.5p per share if you did not get the 5% premium (which is not guaranteed BTW) ?

but i can "see" the SP getting to 225 by the time of the strike price calculation if the upward movement carries on.

...........the SH's like the Co's assets so much that no one tendered any shares for buy back ! ah well at least we might get a meaningful Special divi if that is right. bunch of eejits !

Gruyere, my question was a rhetorical one, yes i keep banging about the BoD but hey ho. anyway, re the share consol, if you do get a special divi, there is nothing to stop you buying CNE shares with the divi if you wanted to.

to have say 2 options - one for a special divi and say one for a TO at say strike price + 2.5% premium or something like that ? mutually exclusive of course and size of funds for each dependent on how many shares take up each option and to give the share buyback b*llsh*t a rest ? i know the investment houses have to make their fees otherwise they dont get a super bonus this year but sometimes ask the "smaller" shareholders what they think ?
