That was a real sinister budget. Decimating a famous British industry just because a few can't control themselves. Gambling can be fun activity. Where do we go with this. All the junk food and McDonald's also can cUse harm. Anything can cause harm to the wrong person.

Entain and evoke both moaning. surely they should merge? then its deal over. this buget spared high street. evoke and entain mainly compete with each on high street, a merge allows them to close a significant amount of shops while keeping the same custom. more times than not its a ladbrokes or coral on the same area as a william hill. then they also capture more online share to. win win. you have 365 flutter and a combined evoke/entain. then the rest. makes sense. but this goverment would probs block it for some reason. problem is does anyone wanna take on evokes debt now? to buy evoke you essentially gota pay 2 billion either taken on the debt or clearing it. is it worth that? thats the problem. interesting times ahead. buyout or merge for evoke is the only way they survive this hence per abandoning his value creation plan. shame as he was making progress. surely gotta be some takers for evoke!

Gosh will this ever reach it's all time high again. Btw ocados was not alone. Many stocks hit ath during covid which is strange considering it was the end of the world according to the narrative. Many stocks can't recover to those COVID highs. Gosh it was the ultimate pump and dump. Many made fortunes!

It's just screaming Amazon. There's space in USA for pure online grocery retailer. Amazon want market share I. Grocery. They have the funds and resources to open bunch cfcs all around the dense city's. Why is Amazon not bidding? I still believe the snakes at Kroger stopped the Amazon deal in 2023 and probably still are hence no mention of exclusivity ending by both parties. Kind of telling. With sobeys announcement they both said exclusivity ends. Clearly Kroger and ocados exclusivity not ending! Annoyingly!

Share price hammering up shorts doomed to failure. Haha. On serious note though. This is now a very very long term play. Kroger could have bought ocados for same amount they wrote off. No big players buying in. Really bad now.

I still have a tiny bit of hope for this company but realistically after years of constant bad news this seems like a knockout blow. the rns is very brief. im surprised no words from TS? maybe a media interview sure up some confidence or something. no mention of the CFCS planned for early next year not mention of exclusivity? very strange. no mention of whos going to do krogers store based automation? real lack of details as stock hits alltime low.

Its such a shame that this is happening as the concept works. i have been a customer for over 10 years. in terms of service, products available and whatever else for me it is hands down the best supermarket in the UK. it does seem that many people are choosing just eat deliveroo etc to get food delivered judging by the state of stores now. everytime ya shop ya got the shoppers running around with trolleys and the delivery riders with big huge bags taking up all the space of the supermarket. it does seem that people are willing to pay a high price and fee to have their small order delivered at short notice. i think in a cost of living crisis this has taken everyone by surprise. they really underestimated millennials and GEN Z here maybe theyve got to start charging higher fixed fees for delivery. i beleieve the [people who want to avoid the current madness of in store shopping and have the connivence of a big refrigerated order delivered will be willing to pay a fee. as for kroger its a bad look but really when ya break it down it was obvious they were never a good fit. its a risky and bold strategy by kroger. lets see how it plays out. amazon and others on thier tales. they are giving up alot of the control of thier brand perception by allowing so many 3rd parties to deliver its products. could end badly. one thing is for sure customers loved krogers ocado delivery. personally kroger seems a mess. failed merger, now back tracking and changing e commerce strategy. i predict they wont make that 400 mill e commerce profit.

Sadly this feels like the end of the project. When your biggest most important partner (a 5% holder) screws ya like this its not a good look. Willing to take a 2.6bn hit because there's no benefit to the relationship it seems. That's speaks volumes. Hard to see another partner signing up. Sobeys Kroger Morrisons...no new deals in years. One thing is for sure ocados needs a new USA deal pronto or sadly it's over. Kroger strengthening e commerce deals with almost everyone and closing ocados. Wow.
