Well, the latest news is the government as opted for a continuation of burning fossil fuels extracted from the North Sea.
There’s the credibility out the window then!

There will be a eclectic push on energy security . In the right place wind, solar and nuclear will all play a part - in my opinion.

As observations go, it’s easy to see Truss’ debut announcements, along with her chancellor, have damaged the economy. Even more obvious, in my opinion, is that the rot stems back twelve years to when Cameron became leader.

However, there is the possibility that Truss - regarding energy supply is playing a slightly longer game. But, it is a long shot in giving her any credibility. Here’s my notion, an announcement to engage with SMR roll-out would likely meet with strong public opposition. People don’t understand nuclear and it’s promise to be non-polluting, but that’s understandable. Suppose fracking is, and most likely will be, another u-turn for Truss.
It would be much easier to sell nuclear to the public thereafter. Could it be that Truss and her cabinet know only too well that a push to revitalise the fracking proposal will fail.
So in a nutshell - fracking will ‘take a dive’ for nuclear.

Well, I did say it’s a long shot.

Will there be clarification on the Chancellor’s second ‘not-a-budget’ scheduled for 23 November. Unofficially ministers said it would be brought forward to ‘this month’. The Treasury says it is on 23 November ‘until it’s not.’ No official announcement has been made but one will be. That’s clear then!

I'm no fan of conservative ideologies. In my opinion, the damage goes right back to Cameron & Osborne. However, if we had to have the Tories, one agrees that Sunak would have a much better PM.

It is likely to be a better day - but the damage done by an incompetent government will be long lasting. When Kwarteng says "a little turbulence" he means the *largest* monthly rise in government debt interest since 1957 – something we are literally all paying for.

Can you seriously give them any credibility?
Especially after the last 10 days.

Chancellor to U-turn on 45p tax rate!!

Yesterday, the PM revealed that the cut in the top rate of tax had not been approved by Cabinet! ... and said it was Kwasi Kwarteng’s idea not hers! She blamed not laying the ground properly for the backlash. But, was she laying the ground to blame him if it all went horribly wrong maybe?

The panicked Liz Truss also discovered kwasi kwarteng is not as bright as first thought.
It has been revealed that kwarteng’s previous job was as a bell rope puller at Notre-Dame cathedral!
