Bots …. Obviously it may not be accurate .. but it does give an indication of how Kala may be thinking! As most have been wondering how they planned to transfer data around. And in truth is no different to the stuff you get from Facebook, which you seem to take as gospel most of the time.

I asked AI how Kala date are likely to be able to send its data to its customer ..below is its answer!

Actually, it’s a brilliant efficiency play. They don't send the data through the copper electricity cables themselves (which is slow and noisy), but they use the physical infrastructure of the power line to carry a fibre optic cable.

1. How it works: OPGW (Optical Ground Wire)

When Tlou built that 100km transmission line, they likely included OPGW at the very top of the pylons.

The Guard Wire: This wire's primary job is to protect the power lines from lightning.

The Fibre Core: Inside that wire is a hollow tube filled with high-speed fibre optic strands.

Efficiency: By "piggybacking" on the power line, Tlou avoids the massive cost of digging a 100km trench through the Kalahari sand to lay separate cables.

2. Why this is highly efficient:

Zero Interference: Because the fibre uses light to transmit data, it isn't affected by the massive electromagnetic field of the 66kV power lines right next to it.

Security: The data cable is 15–20 metres in the air, making it much harder for someone to accidentally cut it (a common problem with buried cables in rural areas).

Cost Savings: The biggest expense in telecommunications is the "civil works" (digging). By using the poles they already paid for, Tlou and Kala Data essentially got a high-speed backbone for free.

3. Is there a downside?

The only real "efficiency" risk is physical:

Pole Stability: If a storm or an elephant knocks down a pylon, you lose both power and data simultaneously.

Heat: In the 40°C+ Kalahari sun, the cables can expand and "sag." Engineers have to calculate this carefully to ensure the data line doesn't get too close to the ground or the live power wires.

4. The "Data-to-Power" Synergy

This setup turns the Lesedi site into a Digital Hub.

Step 1: Gas turns into Power.

Step 2: Power runs the Servers.

Step 3: The Fibre on the Power Lines sends the data to the world.

It’s a closed-loop system that cuts out almost all middle-man costs.

Not sure they would be aloud to frack ..if they were required to use chemicals as it might get into the water table and being in close proximity to game reserves and wild life and also humans .. I very much doubt if they get the go a head for that

Yes agreed, it isn’t clear and this may be to push on further with the project and not just rely on Kala… but again I don’t know and it’s definitely not clear

Below is their tweet on x.com a year ago …. Again it’s not clear whether it’s just for the data centre only or for the PPA stuff to….but it does mention running the PPA in parallel which kinda hints that they are willing to fund this …. as Tlou have no capital to get this going. And in its update to Kala shareholders back in May suggested that if the data price fell below the PPA price then they would be able to sell their power through the PPA vehicle. Which of course they couldn’t do if it wasn’t connected and energised

In truth is this is the best opportunity GDR have had to bring home the bacon! Getting a decent level of funding, to push towards breakeven point and profit.

And I might add not driven by the board who were happy to dilute this share to death to hide their total financial failings.

Although still massive dilution it’s the best option given the circumstances.. and for what it’s worth I have taken all my allocation and voted in Favour .. All IMHO

Brad sorry to here about your current eye and health problems.. I’m certainly not looking forward to getting old .. but to turn that on its head the alternative isn’t very appealing either! They say aging is a privilege that many don’t get the opportunity to experience! So think of it like that and it’s not as bad I hope!

Yes Brad get all you are saying… however the share price is where it is because of the lack of gas flow!

And now it holding up progress .. even for the smallest requirements ie what Kala require currently for 1 or 2 mw of data!

And I’m sure that if the gas flows were better then funding would have been easier to obtain .. either from existing shareholders or outside !

Not much detail as usual as to what's the aim of the next quarter is other than gaining finance. May be Kala in the short term to push things along then may once that's achieving reasonable revenues then others may be tempted to invest!

Always in the back of my mind is all the infrastructure that has been put in place...If i was CEO would i have gone ahead with that, if the gas wasn't going to be good enough? And would the Doc and the Pension guys lent $5m AUD/US respectively,

if they thought it wasn't likely to be repaid on top of their large shareholdings investment

Consolidated in its self isn’t a bad thing .. but the reason for it is .. and that is dilution.. . They have been way to slow getting to a revenue stage . GL has over time thrown the baby out with the bath water too hot keep the company going.. But after the state of the company that JP left behind .. after his greed and blind pinning a pin tale on a donkey approach to drilling.. it’s a miracle it’s still alive! IMHO
