Sounds like they are getting ready to close parliament asap in March, lets hope they dont run out of time and ignore RAT again like last year. Like all politicians they all say we need this but then find ways of not actually carrying it out but they still want it.....

Although everyone wants ratification, but at the right price, they dont want to be seen to give away anything, Hopefully they wont stop it again because they need to investigate further if they could set up a refinery, ALL study said it wasnt viable, but... this is unpredictable and Mahama has great power so they may still need to convince him this is the best deal now and could be got in the future. We shall see...

Assore hold quite some power here owning 30%, to take over assuming the directors vote with them would only require to convince about 15% of the remaining shareholders theirs is a good deal. I think they will bid first and hope there are enough profit takers who want a quick trunaround now. Will be interesting, still frustrated and concerned about RAT, although everyone seems to agree they need to pass it I bet there are many who still want a better deal for Ghana and this might just stop it again, especially if the big boys are making the right noises to MP's

It wont be rejected for royalties as you say, but could be for some other reason that suddenly appears. It just feels given how long this has gone on the public face of these people is we want it, but behind the scenes they are not in a hurry and other forces are at play. Anyhow lets hope this sales through with no further issues, but this is Ghana.

Thats what happened last time the committee presented it to parliament and then they threw it out wanting the royalries changing, they could do the same with the onward processing being kept locally, they could just use it as an excuse to delay again even knowing this has impacts locally as they wont want to be seen to be selling the country short now or in the future. I hope this is not the case and we are all sitting her in the next month with champagne!

It maybe submitted but committee might want amends and when it comes to the house they might say it doesnt cover the onward processing enough and reject their own bill, dont forget there maybe other forces at play here influencing.....

IMO The threat to ratification is this seperate legisalation and that being held up, not because everyone wants to get on with Ewowya but there is a growing voice in Africa and minerals generally to keep the onward processing locally, so this could be uncomfortable for parliament to pass without first have a policy etc on this and relooking at ALL study on this in more detail. Hopefully this is not the case but....
