Never forget that the Ukrainians sided with the Nazis in WWII. They were ruthless in carrying out war crimes and pogroms behind German lines. Jews Poles Armenians. Once they realised they were on the losing side they did everything they could to liquidate the Polish in mixed Polish/Ukrainian areas so as to stop Poland asserting control once the war finished.

Yet we are meant to just believe that ITV can afford the payments needed to guarantee million £ quiz shows that only bring in a fraction of the audience they did 20 years ago.

As we all know Quiz Shows are rigged. There is no element of risk, the outcomes are pre-determined even on the live shows.

Next you will be telling us that the wrestling prize money is paid out by Lloyds of London.

It does not make sense that insurance companies payout the prizes on tv. Big companies will often self insure. Limitless win was a nice headline grabbing story that they took insurance.

Small claims on insurance are not cost effective. If you put in a claim for a lost watch the insurers then just bump up your premium for the next 5 years to cover the cost of the lost watch. So 1 million prize money on who wants to be a millionaire is better paid for by ITV or the advertisers stump up the prize. It is all budgeted for.

So a prize vs revenue breakdown would be very useful. Can ITV still justify £1million prizes. It is no longer 2000 and Chris Tarrant bringing in record audiences.

Yes amazing where they find the money. Back in 1999 Who wants to be a millionaire pulled in viewing figures of 19 million.

Limitless win is lucky to get close to 5 million but more like 4.5 million.

Would love to see a breakdown of advertising revenue vs prize money paid out. The same applies to Farage's fee on Im a celebrity and the do nothing Dame's bonuses. Some big payouts being made but do the revenues justify these prizes?

Thursday 7th of March 2024 for Full Year Results. Under 8 weeks and we get the biggest movement of the year. After that we have the AGM and then months of inactivity over the summer.

I am not a lone voice anymore in criticising the Dame and asking her to step down. Even the Times journalists said she is top 5 to go this year. Share Price has fallen 4% at a time when an ITV drama is driving UK news.

Any new CEO needs credible plans for spending money. They need greater collaboration and therefore shared cost and somehow to monetarise on what they already have without spending blindly.

Sorry but McCall has been given the company credit card and has gone and sploshed out on lots of payments to her mates in the Studios without coming up with a believable plan for generating income back from that 160 million. Guardian employee at best. Spend the money and to hell with any profits.

Sadly I do not think that McCall would ever surprise anyone by leaving by mutual consent. She is someone who is going to fight her corner and demand yet more millions in shareholders money to go. Whatever her price is will be small change next to the 100 million we have lost in the last 2 days. Losses as a time when ITV are making news for all the right reasons and the grooming scandal has been carefully swept away.

Things need to get better.

The Dame approved £160 million in additional spend on content. It is all coming good, only the financial guys should have told her that 1 million streams for MR Bates will not cover the outlay.

Carolyn is media. Background was Guardian newspaper which has to go begging for money. She would have been better as Head of Studios or Production. She is not looking long term at the numbers with enough of a critical eye and the City analysts can see this is her achilles heel. She is spending with no real vision as to how this extra spend will generate revenue.

Everything has changed with that Times arcticle which listed her as one of the CEOs most likely to go in 2024.

Before that she could dismiss the murmurings on the internet, amongst staff and the odd question at the AGM from some TOM idiot via online submission.

Now it is real. Serious journalism. Serious piece. Must be a consensus of opinion. Her colleagues, friends, family and all of the business world will have seen her named.

She was already an injured animal running from the pack. The last 2 days with a 4% loss are yet even further blows to her reputation. How much further will the SP fall will be on everyones lips. Better to act now than let this go back into the 50s?

I now have sympathy for her. We all misjudge our limits. I have taken roles which were beyond my ability. The one time I sat down with my manager after 2 weeks and agreed to leave by mutual consent. I hated that I was out of my depth and not productive. I turned down a role at Airbus in Toulouse this year jsut because the risk of failure was too great and it meant living down their during the week with only occassional trips back to London.

So I hope things work out for Carolyn but sadly the writing was on the wall when the Times called time on her reign and the last two days have only confirmed they were right to do so.

It could still happen any day. I invested heavily here back in the autumn on the idea she would not make it to 2024. I was about 60/40 certain that the Schofield inquiry on top of abysmal share price would see her offer to resign. I can only imagine that questions are now being asked more frequently at the top level. The big share holders and ITV Chairman.

Once she goes and the city can see someone come in with recognised business credentials then this will start to go back to the £1.50 pre covid levels.

Thanks for that Winnie. You do have your uses. ITV looks to have hit Gold with the Mr Bates drama. More real life political drama is what he need. Mr Cummings parking up close to GSK 2 days before they are awarded a big covid contract would be good only potential litigation would be huge.

Much more of the same with Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves. Fiscal prudence. Balancing of the books to keep the international markets happy. Just hopefully it is not a party divided as the current Conservative party is. Maybe we get 4 years of competent leadership rather than the last 8 years of flip flopping all over the place. Trade deals with Europe and hopefully some freedom of movement again would be nice.

Brussels and European corporates will be happy to see Brexiteers gone and a more Eurro friendly UK.

Could bring some boosts to ITV and open up collaboration with different European networks and studios. Maybe even could bring greater investment in UK made dramas and content from European partners.

What now seems clear is that he "met" more than one underage teenage boy whilst appearing on stage himself and with the theatre group he was the patron of. He then did nothing when his brother admitted child sex acts......

Many of the biggest retailers report in this week with Christmas trading figures. Share prices can jump 10% at times on the back of good or bad trading. Hopefully it is all good and increased consumer confidence feeds back into more spend on advertising.

M&S have recovered dramatically in last few years. If only ITV board could replicate their success.

No Adam Crozier in the drama despite him being CEO at the time...... Maybe the same KC as Schofield inquiry advised on what information to omit. He possibly asked what was going on but nobody would tell him other than one junior employee.

Yes Slava Ukraine. 500,00 dead and wounded for that cause. Infrastructure destroyed. Economy ruined. Generations of people scarred by hatred.

Was it really worth it? Ukraine swapped Russian puppets for a military leadership. A corrupt leadership. They sacrificed democracy for a military state that calls of all males and stops them from leaving the country.

Really the dumbest thing that Ukraine could have done. They could have stayed quiet. Bided their time. Waited for Putin and the old guard to die and then maybe have begun the transition to a more EU and western aligned state.

So much destroyed for no gains. A military state run by ultra nationalists rather than democratic politicians. Ukraine has gone backwards in the last 10 years. No pride of sense of national achievement in that.

Russians never wanted this war. Only the corrupt mafia like leadership needed to flex their muscles and prove how they are the alpha males to everyone. Russia is not the enemy. The military establisment in both countries are the enemy of people who wish for freedom of speech and thought.

So please take your ugly nationalist sentiment elsewhere. Perhaps enlist and go and fight the war if you truly believe in the cause. The world has moved on and "Free Palestine" is now the chant of the young people desperate for a cause but with minimal knowledge of the issues.
