In another plot twist the Ukraine war ends. As part of the peace treaty the Russians who had their assets frozen and then given to Ukraine (to invest and then use the interest) have their assets restored and Ukrainski gamblers have to sell their positions in ITV. All funds to their rightful Russian owners and Zelensky will make off with billions .

Pogo you want my reaction? The 7% rise in share price as a result of the buybacks was factored in to the share price last year when the buybacks commenced. SP went from sub 60p to 70+

I told you this the other day. As ever you are being dishonest by trying to mislead readers of this forum that there is a second rise to come from this.

If only you followed my advice and sold after the buybacks rise kicked in and went elsewhere.

I also feel the same. I would love to see informed discussions as to what is driving the share price up but the usual sychophantic monkeys are chattering away as usual and unable to give any real analysis other than "undervalued" "market value of £1" "studios to be sold off".

The forum has become junk because of Solley, Pogo and Winnie.

Janus tell us please what is the reason for the 3p rise? BP has an activist investor who has taken a stake. There is still the rumours surrounding UAE who had looked previously at the feasibility of buying out BP. Credible rumours and news stories in all the main media outlets. ITV on the otherhand is being manipulated again and chumps like Pogo will finance the corporate investors ski breaks.

This will go back to 60p after buybacks end and the Full Year Results. The Dimwit McCall has history of destroying value in this share at the annual event.

Those of you buying in at this temporary high risk being burnt badly. Nobody has explained the 3p rise today. The 3 wise monkeys will do anything to deflect attention away from their beloved Dimwit McCall

That share which I switched all my ITV shares to last April. Top of the FTSE 100 today after an activist investor has taken a stake. 100K up in a few minutes. Fingers crossed for a bid. Oil and Gas was always going to be more attractive to foreign investors than a failing media company.

Winnie is back. That makes 3 stale old frats who know better than the combined city of London. Why on earth can everyone not see what Sorrey, Pongo and W@nkstanley see. They repeat it ad nauseum on this forum but nobody else seems to pick up on the blindingly obvious genius of Dimwit McCall.

Thank you Contrarian for your hard work and effort on this forum. I struggled for years to debunk the lies and spin of the Carolyn sychophants and you have now successfully cut through their mistruths and false constructs in a matter of weeks. So many of the glee cheerleaders for the Dimwit McCall have gone silent. Pogo and Solley remain but nobody takes those two seriously.

Long may this board be the place for well thought out and informative debate where small investors can maybe gain an edge over the manipulations of this stock rather than be drowned out by the old guard who only know how to hold long term and pray for takeovers.

Sometimes I think Solley imagines this is an episode of the apprentice. Board room scene. Lord Solley keeps on repeating "You're filtered". Going on about poor quality of posting and shambles.

Pogo you are his team leader who keeps on winning every task. You will be hired. Alas by the end of the process the share price may be sub 50p but making money never mattered. It is all just entertainment at ITV LSE board.

How do you divide up pensions and debt of the combined studio? Broadcasting which is largely unprofitable can afford to pay the pensions of 50% of the retirees? What buyer of joint owner of the studios wants to pay the pensions of a vastly bigger workforce from 20 years ago?

Monty, Buybacks vs special dividend? The Dame cancelled the special dividend when she arrived. Now she wants to throw money into buybacks. When the special dividend was in place the SP was over £2.

The next results reignite ITV? Yet the trend with McCall has been for every results to sound positive and upbeat but for the city to respond with selling off more shares as they do not like the figures when you strip out the spin.....

I also read a Guardian article from December saying that ITV is the problem child of the media world. To separate studios from broadcasting is not easy as they would have to divide up pension funds and debt. It is an article that gives a glowing report on McCall as she is obviously one of them originally.

Tomorrow will give a good indication as to how the bid is progressing. I worry it will just be a pooling of resources and cutting jobs and locations at a time when the UK is sheeding jobs everywhere.

Pogo it would be nice if you gave it a rest. I am not a troll. I posted a number of alternatives to ITV back in April. One was BP which has lost 15% since then and the other was Tesco which went from 280 to 372 today. You win some you lose some but just sitting tight is not an option for everyone.

I refuse to believe that a honourable lady like Dame Carolyn would plant stories with media chums just to exploit the stupidity of the long term holders who buy more shares on each rumour....... She has integrity. She took 20 million and in return she wiped billions from the value of shareholders portfolios. Many of the biggest losers are retired ITV lifers.

I am expecting a 75p opening with the news of an impending bid.

Waste of space. A deal should have been done 5-6 years ago and ITV share holders should have seen £2 a share in a merger back then. Now any potential suitor and partner will want under £1 for existing shareholders in return for a 50% stake in the studios.
